Whats the Leon like to drive compared with the A3?

I say this because I had a go in my brother's A3 at the weekend and wondered how the Leon compares terms of ride and handling it. It was a 2.0 TDI 140 Sport, same engine that is found in the Stylance.

Can,t comment I am afraid.

But I do "think" my old (but not forgotten!) Mk1 150 TDi PD Cupra would have given this one a run for it's money(+++)! With no mods!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had a 2.0T Quattro S line a few months ago but because of new baby i needed to swap for something cheaper with 4 doors and still with a bit of poke. Liking the VAG cars decided on the Cupra over a GTI and i must say i haven'tlooked back. I thought i might get a bit of stick from my badge snob mates (Didn't really careif i did) but if anything i have had more positive comments about the Cupra. I feel that the ride is less bumpy in my Cupra and the handling a lot better. I do miss the quattro on slippy roads and i was worried at how the Cupra would apply its power to the road without quattro, but i have been pleasantly surprised and had no problems even after a remap!

Overall i am more than happy with my choice, it ticks all my boxes and its almost 10k cheaper than my previous car was new.... so i'm laughing really!:funk:

I found the Audi a bit softer and compliant than my Leon FR TDI setup. Apart from the obvious more upmarket interior and better soundproofing, the drive is so hard to tell apart! Unless you are a super badge snob, I don't think the A3 is worth the money unless you want Quattro (which I do!).

I loved the A3 Quattro I drove. Amazing grip and drive. Shame it was nearly 10k more than my Leon!

I think the A3 Sline (Sports suspension) is quite similar to the FR harsh suspension!

Quattro was great from standing start, powering out of a corner or on those icy roads (I made the rear wheel BM's and Mercs on an icy incline look soo silly when they where slipping and sliding unable to go up and i just came along and went staight up...their faces:clap:) but i didn't like the noticable extra weight of the Quattro system or the slightly twitchy feel (Not being able to kick the back end out) when cornering, i'm sure more practice and i would have mastered a technique

Depends how tall you are. being tall my test drive felt a little out of proportion even after some time sorting out my seat and steering wheel. I was also given a dirty second hand car to drive with a salesman talking sales talk aboutit even though i wanted a new car to buy. It was also alot more expensive than the leon and i didn't really understand the inflated price tag as the dashboard was a bit misplaced and ugly too. I can't wait for the bigger saloon seat are planning though.
