Whats this noise? ABF vid

seems to be coming from the bottom pulley area does it even without aux belts on, cambelt and tensioners are in good nick

Mine is making a similar noise, except faster if you know what i mean. I bought a new alternator belt there, was gonna fit it and see if that sorted it, but i was thinking it could be some of the bearings in the pulleys too?

could it be powersteering belt?
mine sounded similar?

Try spraying WD40 on the belt area as this normally quieten things down.

will try taking the powersteering belt off and see if that makes a diffrence, if not it must be cambelt related but the only thing thats not new there would be the crank seal and the intermediate shaft seals and bearings which sound like a right ass to do

My ibiza make the same sound.
We have already replaced the tensioner but the sound goes on.

Yep, mine still makes that noise even though I have replaced the V-Belt that does the power steering pump, water pump and AC. I reckon it's just the actual pulley that makes that noise. The belt is brand new.

Mine turned out to be the cambelt rubbing on the inside of the cover, the cover had bowed inwards with age.

Yeah similar noise to mine. Mine doesn't make it at first start up, only after a few minutes of engine being on and driving does it start.

Yes, mine also needs some minutes. I guess it happens, when the belt is getting warmer.
Could you solve the problem ?

Yep. got the same here, was told it might be the water pump going, mine comes and goes though. Soon as I know I'll post.

thx for your reply. After a long run on the german Autobahn the noise went off. But after a few days it comes back again...

I hope its not the water pump - i dont want a damage on the engine.
Please tell me, if you can solve it

Mine does the same on start up too, then my Waterpump went, changed it for a new one Euro Car Parts one, the noise went away for a few weeks, but is back again now. Seems to quiten down when warm though.

Keep an eye on the waterpump for leaks!!
