Got some very nice alloy wheels i found for sale.

they are 18" BUT!

2 X TYRES ARE 225/35/18
2 X TYRES ARE 225/45/18

Would this pose a problem having larger tyres on the back. ???

One word... drag racer look...the rear will be higher than the front or vice versa!

I dont think its advisable to have odd sized tyres on the car...

To be honest sounds like the person replaced them with the cheapest tyres he could afford just to sell them.. otherwise why didnt they match them...

they are off a celica.

i didnt think it was advisable but i know a fair few cars do it.

Well i know that people go different size WIDTHS e.g. 215 on the front and 235 on the rear, to get that staggered look... but NEVER heard of different size side walls on front and rear tyres! Just sounds like cutting corners to be honest (money wise)

dam they are nice wheels and only £200 but the fronts and rears have loads of tread. may get em and change the rears for 35 walls.

i may be mistaken but i think some people get ofset sizes to compensate for variences in ride heights from front to back when the rear have torson bars rather than spring. Im sure shomeone might correct me on this but that was the only explanation i could come up with when i notice some one had done.:confused:

Well i decided il will probably get them as the front have 7mm of tread so i could have the tyres all removed and sell em on ebay as part worn and buy a new set of 4 40 profile tyres.

just seen the prices of 35 profile 18 inch tyres and seems for these i could get about 120 quid for the pair.

I think you got a good idea there james, remove and reset the tyres to more standard tyres!

whats the ET on them thou, as you wont be able to space them out to much due to laws against tread being outside the arch and also it was cause rubbing on turning... and also shaving off isnt as safe as most think, testing of wheels mean they tested with a certain thickness on the hub, you shave it off, you lose its ability to take the same loads... just a word of warning!
