Hi guys,

Can you get a spacer that will change the stud diameter from 5 x 100 to 5 x 130 or is it too much of a difference?

just the wheels i want are a 5 x 130 fitment :(

Cheers for the help guys

That's awesome, i know i sound thick but what is the Offset? Is that like the 37 offest of something? should i get thicker ones if the gap between my offset and the wheel offset gets bigger? I really dont understand the offset thats all :(

I know now, just been doing some research, so negative offset is the amount the wheels sits under the car and positive offset is how far out from the car the wheels sit :p so all i need to do is check that the wheels i want are UNDER the ET of my car, otherwise i need to order some Thicker? Spacers?

The offset of your standard wheels are ET35 as far as I know (I may be wrong though) so if you were to get a new set of wheels that had an offset of ET45 for example, the wheels would sit closer to the wheel hub by 10mm and most likely rub on the brakes and shock absorber. On the other side, if the new set of wheels had an offset of ET25, they'd sit further away from the wheel hub by 10mm and risk rubbing on the arch lip if you went too far. So basically, the higher the number is for the offset, the closer the wheel will sit to the hub and the lower the number is for the offset, the further away it will sit from the hub. Does that make sense?

To sum up, when fitting wheels from a car made by a different manufacturer with a PCD (space between bolts) that doesn't match your own, it's best make sure that the offset of them is lower that your current ones as you'll need to remember that any PCD adapters will be at least 20mm thick. I would say personally that you should choose a wheel with an offset no higher in number than ET55. This should clear your brakes (depending on the spoke design of the wheels) with a 20mm adapter and make the wheels sit in the arch.

The lower the number the further out they sit.

Guys above have pretty much explained it. You'll be able to find the offset stamped somewhere on the wheel.

Just remember if they're;

ET45 - 10mm adaptors
ET50 - 15mm adaptors
ET55 - 20mm adaptors

You get the idea..

If they're ET35 already, 10mm adaptors will actually probably look better anyway as alot of people on here are using 10mm spacers for a wider track and a more aggressive stance

not that its a secret but i don't want people with the money at the moment to take up all my idea's. Its probably been done before but i love the wheels i have seen and i wanted them for my Golf GTi before i had the Leon. I just never got around to buying them :(

I will buy the wheels soon if i find a good pair but after that i will keep them to one side, have them refurbed and buy my spacer/hub adapters....

HOPEFULLY you will all see within the next 6 months. Suppose it depends on how much i sell my Peugeot 306 GTi6 for :(

I need to pay some debt of with it so i will see whats left lol
