Hello,

I am looking at buying new wheels for summer tyres, would these fit without any work on the car suspension :

Brand: Borbet
Model: VTX
Colour: black glossy
Weight: 11,90 kg
Load capacity: 680,00 kg
Front axle: 19 inches - 8.5 J, ET 47.0, 5/112
Rear axle: 19 inches - 8.5 J, ET 47.0, 5/112

I think I can get them with an offset of 40 instead of 47

my current wheels are these :

Is there a shop online where I can find decent wheels without breaking the bank to much ?
There are quite a few online alloy wheel retailers - a Google search should help you find them.

www.rimstyle.com looks to have a very wide selection from different manufacturers and a wide range of prices. I’ve never bought alloys from them but I’ve seen some positive mentions of their service and quality of the products they sell on various forums over the years.

If you‘re happy with low(er) cost replica alloys then CMWheels also gets a few positive mentions on various VAG forums. They seem to specialise in copies of OEM VW, Audi, BMW and Mercedes and typically, a set of four 18” replica VW alloys cost around £480. Bear in mind that CMWheels only sell alloys in sets of four, so if you‘re unlucky enough to damage one beyond repair you can’t buy just a single replacement, although at £480 a set it’s relatively inexpensive to replace all four.

I‘d avoid buying low cost alloys with a diamond cut finish. Diamond cut alloys tend to have poorer durability than alloys with a painted / powder coated finish, and with alloys at the lower end of the price range the quality of finish may not be as good as with OEM alloys, so they may be susceptible to the early onset of white worm corrosion.
