wheel question

hi guys my ibiza sport has got the standard 16" wheels on it. i was planning on putting 17" wheels on it. its standard height atm but plan on dropping it 30-40mm in the foreseeable future. just wondered if anyone whos running 17/s what profile tyre theyre using?

it's the recommended tyre size from seat, that's the size of tyre they put on their 17's. doesnt make a difference if it's lowered or not bud

205/40/17 is the standard size that come with ibizas with 17 inch alloys as standard. You should be ok with that drop and this size of tyre.

You'll be fine. I'm on coilovers with standard wheels, and I'm fine.

215 is the widest I'd go, 225s supposedly rub. Cant confirm the 215's would be fine, but I expect they would be.

Best handling would probably be:

Lowered (But not too low), Rear spacers (To widen track) and a RARB.

Nope. RARB is a Rear Anti-Roll Bar.

It fits underneath the car.

aaa yess LMAO im shite with abrebiations . been looking into those tbh. wheres a ha;f decent place to get one. braces are also a must i assume? althoygh i have never felt any figgrence with a upper brace :s

Wouldn't say a must, A few have them. I think its Forge that do the rear strut brace but I'm not sure.

215/45/17 lowered around 40mm on coilovers. I do get scrubbing but i suspect that its because the tyre profile should be 40 rather than 45 on mine

need to watch you aren't throwing your speedo out with those mate, 45/17's enough to make a difference.

They are messing it up! ScanGuage used to agree with SatNav and dial was over by about 10%. Now the Dial agrees with SatNav and ScanGuage is 10% below....

I wouldn't have but 45 on if i had the choice, its just the tyres the wheels had on when i bought them, I'll drop down to 40 when i need new ones, or 35 if im feeling brave haha

35 could potentially throw the speedo off in the opposite direction tho sat nav tends to give you a slightly higher reading than the speedo anyway, as long as you're aware of it, it's allll good
