Im looking for an extra set of wheels for my Seat Leon Cupra, to use with winter tires.
The car is fitted with 235/35-19 as stock since it has the larger brakes included in the performance pack.
If possible i would like to go down to 18" wheels since 235/35 is really quite harsh..

Has anyone fitted 18" wheels on a Cupra with Performance pack?
Is it possible to do that while clearing the calipers at the same time?
If so, what ET and tire sizes are compatible?

Stock wheels on the ttrs were 18" and they were fitted with the same brake setup so it's easily done . Just need to make sure the offset on new wheels is right

Was not aware that the TTrs had 18" as stock, thanks for the information!
However do you have any idea what ET would be appropriate?

I can't say with 100% certainty without pulling a wheel off my car and a quick Google doesn't give any useful information on the sub 8 wheels.

General rule of thumb for offset is if original wheels are 19x8 with et50 new 18x7.5 wheels should be et45 to get same clearance

Its quite easy to find wheels which are 18x8 and around ET 45.
That should fit the car right?
It will poke out a bit more but there are some margin to the fender or would i run into trouble?

As I said I don't know 100% the offset of the stock sub 8 wheels as I can't find any info on Google and it's not really the weather to go and pull a wheel off my car

Ok found out sub 8 wheels are 19x8 with et50

So if you went with 18x8 et50 you could run 235/40/18

Great thanks!
If i would find a wheel with 18x8 ET 45 it should also fit, right?
Also i guess a 225/45/18 should also fit and provide the same rolling distance as 235/35/19 while providing a better ride quality?

ET45 would stick out of the car 5mm more, so a negligable amount of width difference on the rim and the 225 tyre is narrower too.

235/35r19 are 25.5 inches tall.

225/45r18 are 26 inches tall.

the really popular 225/40R18 are 25.1 inches.

Yepp thats the reason to why im looking at the 225/45-18, to get some more rubber between the wheel and the ground. The stock 235/35 is way to stiff for our poor roads..

i've just fitted a set of 17" Audi A3 alloys to my FR this afternoon
Wheel specs are
Audi - 7.5 x 17 ET56 with 225/45/17 winter tyres
SEAT - 7.5 x 18 ET51 with 225/40/18 tyres

According to http://www.willtheyfit.com/index.ph...2=45&wheel_size=17&wheel_width=7-5&offset2=56 the Audi wheels sit 5mm closer to struts and so 5mm further in from arch, they do seem quite close so i'm ordering some 5mm spacers to push them back out to standard - do i need longer bolts as sellers say not?
