Iv been chasing up for my SLI number from the dealership for a few weeks and finally got one yesterday. Sent a message to Cupra via messenger and got the following response:
the way I interpret that, is that the dealership may have only ordered the car on Monday 13th September, despite me placing the order with them 7 weeks ago? Does that look right, or is the 13th when the factory accepted the order?

Quite possibly, never thought of that. I was surprised to see how cheap the insurance was compared to my previous 1 Series.
I would take that as meaning Cupra only got the order from the dealer on Monday. If you ordered the car 7 weeks ago it would appear to me that the dealer hasn't placed the order with Cupra until Monday, and if it was me I would therefore be extremely p***ed off with them and quite possibly even looking to cancel the order as it won't be to the spec you ordered.
Looks like you chasing them for the SLI number has prompted them to eventually place the order, and probably why you've been waiting weeks to get it from them.
That was my first thought but then I can’t understand why they would wait 7 weeks before ordering it? I have a copy of the ‘order’ that the dealership gave me on the 24/07/21, just can’t see why they wouldn’t place the order immediately?
It's about monthly sales targets man. They push cars from one month to another to get their monthly bonuses.
I would've thought they would have placed the order within a couple of days, as I know my order wasn't sent to Cupra on the day I ordered, as it was the day of the 22MY being launched, so later in the day I emailed them with queries and over the next couple of days was awaiting responses and was allowed to add on any of the new options that were available, which I did. Assume they only officially placed the order when I emailed them with my final spec and told them I was happy for them to proceed with the order.
Unless the dealer has forgotten or misplaced the order, that is the only reasoning why I can see them not placing the order until Monday.
If that is the case then it’s disgraceful. I will now get the smaller screen and still have another 5-6 months to wait!!!!!!!!
TBH I’m not arsed about the slightly smaller screen, I probably wouldn’t have even noticed it had changed if it wasn’t for the fact it was mentioned on here. It’s the possibility that they held off with the order, which in turn has delayed things even further than they already were!
So still have an unconfirmed build slot for week 38 (next week). Has anyone been in this situation, did your build go ahead as planned or did it get delayed further?

I've had two unconfirmed build slots not happen...week 33 and now 42.
Currently no build slot.
It's not slightly smaller, the difference is noticeable. But, being smaller, I expect a better image quality...
