So, same model as the one I have on order. Don't really understand why I could remove the camera system from my build as I really didn't want to wait a further 12wks on top of an already long wait, yet you cannot remove it ?‍♂️. Mayhem....... To be honest its almost too much to try and fathom this all out! There seems to be so many issues with car manufacture at the moment, I don't really think anyone know what is going on for sure.
Yeah agree . I don't even try and understand it anymore, I'll just wait for another update next week ?‍♂️

Regarding the delays caused by certain options my dealer just confirmed 12 weeks for the TV Cameras, virtual pedal and the tow bar (hopefully they don`t add up :D ) But he said there is no information about delay caused by the beats system unlike the scary six months the article above suggests. But yes... as Gbbeesls said: no one really knows what is going on...

The dance has begun!. It seems dealers are giving the stock "It'll be about 10-12 weeks mate". Even when they know, only too well, that this is not the case in reality. Think this is to get you to place an order, in the belief they can let you down gently as things get delayed. Once you place an order and you get 10 weeks in they are pretty sure you won't cancel and will suffer the delay. They know that it will be hard to cancel an order and start again elsewhere as you will just find yourself in the same boat (unless you go for used).
? I suspected that may have been the case... Any idea what the usual order cancellation terms/fees are? I'd happily cancel if it wasn't here by summer and just either keep what I have or get something in stock - especially if I'd been misled by the dealers.

That's what I'm planning to do. Wait another month or so and then cancel. I'm on a pcp so I know there will be no problem with that. If I am not to get the 360⁰ camera anyway I could have buy one ages ago from canceled stock from other dealers.

You have the right to cancel and obtain a refund of any monies provided. There are some caveats to this but if the dealership is unbale to fulfil your order as agreed then you are entitled to your money back. They may say that the deposit is non-refundable but this is not the case and if you have a strong case that they are unable to fulfil the order, as such they are obliged by law to refund you. At the end of the day they will not loose money as the build slot will be sold to another customer. There is a lot of info/advice on Money Saving Expert website. You are pretty well covered by law to get your money back in these instances.

Ah that's good to know. Is the same true of leasing companies?
I did speak back with Preston early, apparently the hybrids have a huge waiting time (18 months in some cases) but petrols are around 15 weeks (providing the options don't give rise to short microchips). Taken with a pinch of salt of course.

Yes, same is true for leasing companies (y). I understand that PHEV vehicles are looking at longer delays than their petrol counterparts. Probably to do with the shortage of additional components required for the electric charging and drive system.

Apologies for the second post or repost if that sort of thing annoys, but I thought I’d post here too for people watching the thread.

I have just ordered (well, bought really as the car is already at the dealers) a VZ2 Hybrid 245 in Asphalt Blue with black leather for delivery in the first week in March (that’s March 2022).

Oh, and if anyone wants an Asphalt Blue VZ2 Hybrid 245 with a black leather or isn’t fussy about colour but wants a new car, they have another one unregistered, plus a red one in the showroom. Where? Marshalls Seat / Cupra, Leicester.

Lol. Good to see they've got so many in stock except mine ...I've ordered from them as well

What a difference 7 months makes. When I ordered my petrol Formentor back in July last year, I was told I'd have approx. a 5 month wait for it (which was bang on - ordered 1st July, picked up 1st December), but if I wanted a hybrid I could have one immediately as they had a few in stock and there were more in the system that were available and all unregistered.

Just had a call saying my car is at the port but it's turned up in the wrong colour... Graphene Grey instead of Magnetic Tech Grey! Luckily leasing company is covering the cost difference and said I would take it as I've waited long enough!

I’ve got Graphene Grey, best feature of the car!

I've got Graphene Grey as well, and it is the one thing that everyone comments on is that they love the colour.

If they give me magnetic then I know they got our orders muddled up

The weird thing is before Cupra stopped providing any updates last September. The Cupra representative who was providing me with an update at the time did say something along the lines of "nice choice of colour Graphene Grey!" I did query this with the lease company at the time and they said it can't be as on the order form it states Magnetic Tech Grey- which it did and that Graphene Grey is more expensive. Looks like there has been an admin error somewhere. I'm not too fussed I do like Graphene Grey and would have been my second choice, I'm just glad it's finally arrived in the UK after 9 months.

Hi all, not posted much since joining but adding to this thread as I just exchanged messages with my dealer. My status has actually gone back to 00 from 10! That's on a November '21 order. Originally slated for March delivery, which slipped to April and then May, and now there is no indicated build week at all. Sigh.

The inevitable phone call last week, had to remove the Top View Camera option from my order and get dealer approval for what sounds like an effective reorder (with new reduced spec list). Waiting on broker to send new paperwork and new prices so god knows what delivery date is looking like now!

Interesting. My dealer was suggesting that orders up to the end of January were somehow protected in terms of honouring options originally selected. We shall see!
