The owner of the 964 I detailed a bit back was debating a change back then, and being a keen Porscher driver it didn't take long for hiom to find this beauty and add it to his list of cars he has owned. I went to view the car a couple of week ago, and have waited like a kid on Christmas Eve everyday since.

Here she is waiting for my lurrrvvvve:

and she ain't that clean I'm afraid:

I returned back to the FD van, setting up all the gar for washing and cleaning, then squeezed the massive rear shoulders out of the garage (inch or so each side only!!!) and moved the car (rubbling and rattling like 450bhp on cold start does) over to where the work would begin.

Alloys and Arches:

Equipement:

DSCF0020.jpg

Process:
First a good rinse in the arches and alloys:

DSCF0021.jpg

Then APC in the arches and Acid free in the alloys:

DSCF0022.jpg

Start scrubbing the arches:

Inner alloys:

DSCF0024.jpg

Alloy fronts:

DSCF0025.jpg

and a good rinse out:

DSCF0026.jpg

Next up, shuts, traps and gaps. And it started to shower, so coat back on too - not nice as it was fairly warm and I'd prefer not to have to wear a coat in these temps.

All with APC and fine brush:

After this it was time to light up the snowfoam gun:

DSCF0030.jpg

All washed and rinsed, start to clay bar:

DSCF0031.jpg

Then back to the alloys to deal with some very un-sightly wheel weight pads:

DSCF0032.jpg

I worked, sweated and generally grafted with alsorts of cloths, brushes etc but the only way to get the pads off was good ole fashiioned finger work:

DSCF0033.jpg

after what seemed like a chuffing age I started to make progress:

DSCF0034.jpg

and finally all gone:

DSCF0035.jpg

great! just the other side to do now!

DSCF0036.jpg

Once all washed, clayed and dried:

I then moved the car back into the garage, extremely carefully to say the very very least! and started to gather some Paint Depth Readings:

DSCF0039.jpg

front end has been re-sprayed:

Now to have a look at the paint under halogen lamp:

3m waffle weave polishing pad and Swissvax Cleaner Fluid:

DSCF0042.jpg

Delightful progress. So rear engine cover lifted and onwards:

Four inch pad for tight areas:

DSCF0044.jpg

and alsorts of pads and angles around the rear fin:

DSCF0047.jpg

It was good to get back to a nice easy curved wing :)

DSCF0048.jpg

After all machining done I then applied Swissvax Divine to the whole car:

DSCF0049.jpg

once applied to the whole car, I took three steps right, and did the same!:

DSCF0050.jpg

Now whilst the waxes were curing I got on and started on the alloys prep and protection. Pics through machining were limited and I think you will see why from the shot of me applying cleaner fluid to the alloys:

DSCF0051.jpg

After applying CF to all alloys on BOTH cars I then toured again and applied Autobahm to all 8 alloys:

DSCF0052.jpg

With the autobahm curing I stopped for a bite to eat before buffing the wax residue off both cars. I then buffed the alloys off on both cars, followed by Pneu tyre dressing application:

DSCF0053.jpg

Once all tyres were dressed a second layer of wax was put onto the 993.

With the second layer curing, I set to on the interior. First job was glass, then leather cleaning:

DSCF0054.jpg

I thought it looked pretty clean until I wiped the cleaner away:

DSCF0055.jpg

Once all cleaned, and all hard surfaces done I then vacummed out, making sure to move the leather and get down in the seats:

DSCF0056-1.jpg

I then applied the Leather milk, and left this to work its magic. Whilst that was going on I started to work on the two front floor mats.

First job was to spray the cleaner in:

DSCF0057.jpg

then work the cleaner by brush:

DSCF0058.jpg

followed by a extraction spray through and out to finish up:

DSCF0059.jpg

DSCF0060.jpg

After this I then finally got round to buffing off the second layer of wax. Then back onto the CF for the front grill fins, metal polish for the exhausts and seal feed on all rubbers. Last checks, and a MF cloth in all panel gaps etc to ensure all wax residue was removed.

One completely different car:

thats awesome mate, i think it's a nice purple, always interesting to see these things bieng done, out of interest how much did all that cost? need my paint correcting

thansk guys

the cars belong to three different owners in all. A father and son, and a best mate who works outside the UK.

It is a fezza, not been detailed yet, but work required to get it up to full concours comeptition level would be minimal!

clay ar is actually clay bar, but without the 'b'. After a long day, spending another hour typing these reports up is hard going :D

Do you get the buzzing hand sensation after using a polisher for a day? I hope you get to do the fiesta, that'd be cool and easier than almost all the other stuff you do :)
