Right guys, my My Gti 16v Cupra Sport is nearing 80,000 miles, clutch all seems fine at the moment (still on the original). Just wondering if there is a bench mark figure that they seem to carry on till. I know all cars are different when it comes to how long clutches last for, just interested to see when/if you lot have changed yours yet and what kind of milage they have covered.

Just want to be prepared for it, so it doesnt come out of the blue and sting me financially. Speaking of which, if you have had one done, how much did you pay etc.

Cheers.

The Cable is relatively cheap around £60 i was told. the actual clutch im not sure,
however i am on 75k and still on the original and tbh if i had the cash i would replace as myn is very heavy

I had mine done at just over the 100k mark/12 years old. Done as a precaution as it gets some abuse on track. Can't remember the exact figure but it was a few hundred?

well mine is on 114K and is starting to slip so going to be looking into a new clutch in the next month or so.

Black Diamond Clutch - £120
Labour - £100ish

im just about to hit 100k and still on the original. also gonna be going for a black diamond clutch when it does need replacing! im hoping around 110k

So looks as if I am ok for the time being as my annual millage is low at the moment. Touch wood it should go on for a bit more. Thanks for the heads up!

129 and feelin fine!!! the thrust bearing is going to go in a while, starting to make a horrible worn-bearing-y noise when the clutch is depresed  had the gearbox out less than 3 months ago and the clutch was still meaty and the thrust bearing seamed fine  ahh well cant be helped
