Hi all

I've been wondering about the ESP function.
I've just changed to winter tyres(goodyear 205/55-16.

And when I give it some juice in the 1.g and shifts to 2. It's feels like the clucth is slipping. (I loose power, but no ESP blinking).

But if I disengage the ESP is does not feel like it's slipping (just hopping a bit).

Is this normal? I know I dont have that 2 cm extra tracking on each wheel.

Very stange mate. Hard to say without drivin it. If you losing power and you not when ur esp is turned off they maybe the esp light in not working.

Seems you not 100% sure that you are not losign power when its swiched off?

I dont think i'm loosing power with the esp off. But I do when the esp is on.
I can definitely feel it when I go from 1 to 2. I feels like the ESP i cutting the power. But the ESP light does not come on.

If I hammer it in 1 the light blinks like crazy, so it does work.

the ESP cuts power to stop the wheels slipping. I'm pretty sure the TCS light only flashes when the wheels are slipping badly and you are losing grip. Thats the way it always seems to me anyway.

Sounds like the traction control system (TCS) to me. ESP (Electronic Stability) doesn't prevent wheel spin, it aids in bringing the vehicle under control in the event of a slide.

It sounds like the TCS is cutting power because the wheels are trying to spin in second gear.
