ECU is behind the thin tin sheet scuttle panal - just 2 T30 screws hold it on. ECU is just to the right of middle. It is "locked" in by a security bracket that can just be bent out of the way temporarily.
The thin insulated sheet blocks out a HUGE amount of engine noise - turbo woosh and diesel clatter - I'm wondering if it might be worth purchasing an additional insulation layer to screw over the original for an even quieter drive?
There was also an alarming amount of potentially body corroding crud and leaves inside the bulkhead so it may be worth, if you have a spare minutes taking off the scuttle panal and giving it a good hoover/hose down.
Asked about ecu upgrage for hesitation at pick up and was told it wasn't needed on mine ('05).
Problem turns out to be a loose/defunct inlet pipe to intercooler connection - maybe a similar
problem to the 1.9s No4 tube?
