I replaced my standard ducting with some 80mm diameter ducting. I kept the location of the ducting in the same place, facing backwards in the wheel arch.

Old intake versus new:

On the subject of whoosh noises, I have got a Forge 006 dv, green panel filter in a smoothed airbox and a remap. The whoosh noise is quite audible from the inside of the car.

I know this is an ibiza thread, but i have purchased some very strong 100mm ducting from Bill @ Badger5 - very strong, aluminium, and its black, so would blend in with a normal engine bay :)
I've also made it fit into the smoothed airbox i have, just gotta install it and route it down the wheel arch now :D

also - Peter - is that intake holder, inside the wheel arch, standard? Looks quite smart... but the Leon's dont have it :(

Well its a bigger diameter so I hope so. The original ducting tapers down to a 40mm x 50mm ish oval.
I modified the airbox to allow the 80 mm ducting to fit straight in as well:

Pabs,
That sponge thing in the wheel arch is standard to hold the original intake, I just modified it slighty to fit the bigger one.

I also have now blanked off the breather hole on the airbox lid and fitted a separate breather filter.
