Which air filter for 1.4 tsi?

Picking up my cupra on monday, planning on ordering a filter for it, been looking at itg filters so far. Just wondering what filters people have been using on SCN?

Do not buy an induction kit unless your cupra has the battery on the back. Because the space in the engine bay is insufficient to blend properly the duct of the induction kit.

I know it cost twice than the other induction kits, but seems that has the best design, has the best filter IMO (K&N), and also is the one that looks better.

If you don't want to spend that much or have the battery in the engine bay, just buy a replacement filter such as Revo or K&N.

I had a replacement filter, then buy an induction kit (K&N, very similar as the ITG or Forge). And now I got back to the replacement filter. I had some problems with the induction kit, the the duct from the air entrance to the filter is loose and keep hitting other parts of the car and for last it will cut, scratch or blend. And you need to keep repairing it. All this kits you have to blend the duct 180° then 90° and that is not good at all, the less turns you make the air flow faster. Also all the induction kits has a problem with the heat, there are to close of the engine and the inductions are so small that the filter is very close to the walls covering the filter. So at the end of the day this induction kits run very hot and have a lot of turns that reduce the air flow, and you need to check them constantly to see if they dont blend or get loose, etc.

The original filter has better heat tolerance IMO, it has thicker plastic walls, the space between from the filter to the walls is bigger so more air between the heat and the filter, the filter is far away from the engine, has the less turns (just one of 90°).

Go for the K&N filter that suits the original filter housing.
K&N has good quality and I had it in several of my cars => never any problems.
