Which air filter / induction kit?

Hey guys, the air filter and cold air feed pipe in my 2003 Leon Cupra R 225 are looking really ratty and in need of a refresh. Which air filters are recommended for this car?

I've been looking at Jetex induction kits, does anyone have any experience with these? They make one specifically for the LCR 225 6 speed variant that looks good, does this kit include both the new air filter and the new cold air feed pipe?

Does anyone have any air filters or induction kits they have found to be good?

As a second question, how easy or difficult are they to fit at home?

Loads of people running Jetex filters, have a search. If you`re interested have a look through Badger-5`s threads in the sponsers section. Got one for my LC from them, Looks good, sounds good, and a reasonable price.

That was the next question I was about to ask, I am hopeless with this sort of thing.

Now I just need to decide whether or not to get a cone filter on its own, or a kit with a filter and a cold air feed pipe.

EDIT: Come to think of it, I'm thinking of having my car flashed back to the standard Seat map as I don't think the current map is doing it any favours. My car has a cold air feed on currently, and when it gets reflashed I'm prepared to live with the decrease in power, will a standard 225bhp car suffer from not having a cold air feed?

dont start rick i think there the best, best value for money, highest gs figure iv seen was when a jetex filter was used on here. they have massive bhp ratings and for £50 you wont find better. debate over haha

I would argue a green cone would flow equally well , similar price too

Just ordered a red Jetex angled 80mm cone filter.

Going to fit it at the weekend. In the end I decided against the cold air feed, I don't think it will give much benefit when I get the car reflashed to the standard Seat map some time next week. Also getting a smoke test done to check the turbo system for any leaks.

Hopefully the new filter, standard map and some leak detection (and plugging any leaks that are found!) will have my car feeling great again

What are the neuspeed p-flo induction kits like?

the heat shield is good but the filters dont flow as good as the jetex cone.

i've been using the standard air intake on all of my induction kits, im at stage 1 now but was using an open cone on the oem map and had no problems
jetex are a good filter, i dont have one though, i do use a neuspeed cone, a HKS mushroom, a BMC carbon enclosed filter and a green pannel with smoothed air box... not all at the same time but i like a change now and then, the neuspeed is my fav though, good sound from it too...
im putting a 3" air feed in soon along with doing a whole load of other stuff whilst my front bumper is off in the next couple of weeks.
will prob put the neuspeed back in and create a heatshield for it as i dont have one yet

I don't have a cold air feed pipe for my new filter, and the old CAF will probably not survive the air filter change - it looks pretty rubbish. A new CAF kit from Jetex is £130 apparently and I'm not dying to rush out and get one, but I've had people saying "The heatsoak will be terrible!" etc. How bad is it likely to be? Is a CAF really mandatory with a cone filter on these cars? If it is, it's the first car I've heard to be like this!

Think Bill means their filtration rate isnt as good as something like a Jetex, there was a test done on some filters, let me see if i can find it now

and i saw a test that showed a foam filter far superior...
