Hi all starting to think about parting ways with my mk1 and although the pull of the new Scirrocco is huge a 240bhp out the box leon has a tighter grip on the plums lol (i think!!). My question is that i have yet to dive into researching the 2.0TFSI engine and want to make sure that i am getting the 240bhp not the 200. Can anyone give me a heads up on models and years that the 200 increased to 240. I know the K1's have it and the new 10 plate cupras, but do some of the FR's etc. Cheers all in advance

PS i did have a quick look about here and couldnt find much of an answer.

FR petrols all have 200PS and all the Cupra's have 240PS...

Yep, basically the FR = 2.0TSFI engine with a K03 Turbo the Cupra/K1 is the 2.0TSFI with a bigger K04 Turbo in it.

Cupras only come in manual

The FR has the option of a Auto/DSG box which having owned one is a fun alternative.

Both cars will take a remap without need to upgrade any other parts.
Claims are that the FR with stage 1 will be around 250 ish and the cupra 300 ish

The brand new Cupras have a TSI engine but in essence I think its the same! Only upgrades are to body kit and a few suspension tweaks i think!

The new FR has the direct-injection EA888 2.0-litre turbo four Scirocco engine that ups power from 197bhp to 207bhp, while torque at 207lb ft from a happily low 1700rpm. Same engine as the MK6 Golf GTi.

All MKII Cupra's have the 240ps lump.

lol i knew it would become a bit more complicated than FR 200 and cupra 240, but thats what makes us research the hell out of these cars :).

Cheers all i will just keep looking now until the right one comes along now or hope my numbers come in and a brand spanker will be on the drive next to an R8 :)

But different engine codes between pre-facelift and facelift due to some minor differences between the engines ;)

Yep spot on but have no idea what lol but mpg has improved by a bout 4mpg avg and Co2 is down by 9g/km
