After cleaning my daughter's 19" alloys from her Leon Cupra after fitting her 18" winter alloys on, I'd like to avoid any/all black original fitment wheels as the black paint is so soft - then there is the diamond finish on them as well. Silver wheels at least up to now have seemed to have quite a hard and resistant to marking finish, these 2019 19" Cupra wheels, well I'm even scared to use acidic cleaner on them which means after 2 cleanings using PH neutral brake dust "remover", there are still many very small spots of brake dust still on these summer wheels, her BF can sort them out next spring!

IMO you’re right to be scared to use an acidic wheel cleaner on diamond cut alloys, as these acid-based cleaners can ‘eat’ into and destroy the lacquered surface, leaving the wheels looking cosmetically awful - dull and tarnished and very similar in appearance to white worm corrosion. If a specific wheel cleaning product is needed, then I’d recommend using a ph neutral, acid free cleaner, even if it does take a bit more effort.

However, I’ve found that if wheels are decontaminated, sealed / waxed with a good quality sealant / wax, and washed regularly (every 7-14 days) and sealant / wax reapplied every 3-4 months, they should be pretty easy to maintain and brake dust build up shouldn’t really be a problem. It should only really be necessary to wash the wheels with a good quality ph neutral shampoo, rather than having to use a specific wheel cleaning product.

Mine has the first 18 inch wheels.

They both look nice, model year 17-19 can have either or dealers put them on before WLTP must have been clearing out stores.

Older top version easier to clean as experienced both. Got them on my FR Tech.

I didn’t want leather on second Leon as it not very good quality and the cloth seat Leon’s came with 17” generally so dealer threw in these at a silly price. Seems there is some silver and black version of these floating about at dealers currently. Bugger to clean though.

I was recently quoted £768 for a genuine set of four of those alloys, in either silver or black, 18", by RPS. They said that they would fit a Cupra even though Seat say they don't. I was pretty tempted but decided I really quite liked the 19's
