Thats not the final version... Its the one and the only custom (I think so?) version for S3 customer and those "duck tapes" are his own mods Maybe there will be "Dv-section pipe" before the maf, So the intake could be separated to two pieces ?how did you mod it ? do you get a nice flutter noise?I have that on my Cupra, modified and all but i do not have the cold air extension, cant help but feel the car is sucking in warm air
Sorry mate it is, all the open filter designs aint too clever. The full Forge is the only true cold air intake but i found i lost a bit of throttle response and the low end didnt feel as instant but it did smooth the power curve a bit and sounded really nice. When i changed to the Dbilas it felt real good, throttle response was sharp and the car felt very smooth and more torqy. Another thing i love about the Dbilas is that when you come off the motorway even after driving it hard the pipe and airbox are still cold because of the cold fresh air only being taken from the stock opening which is in the grill, i have even built a little scoop in the grill to dedicate even more air to it. The Dbilas only has two bends and the shortest length and still sounds good (if any one thinks it does'nt, stick the stock box back on and the car will seem silent), to me the Dbilas is the only true replacement for the stock airbox, it gets rid of the bad things, introduces no downsides, truly stays cold on a nice run and gives a brilliant ram effect, especially with the little scoop.I have that on my Cupra, modified and all but i do not have the cold air extension, cant help but feel the car is sucking in warm air

For our engines the linear flow of a panel filter is better than one being sucked recklessly from all angles through a cone. With the Dbilas its like the air is just waiting in the box to be sucked so when you touch the throttle on the motorway, its off. Most of these massive power jap cars get massive heat soak or the stock airbox is just real crap so they have no choice. The big power japs cars that are a bit more smarter always run airfeed pipes from outside and have vents in the bonnet to let out hot air, but we dont have bonnet vents and you would have to lose a foglight to run a good air feed pipe. which still wouldnt give you the brilliant ram air effect.

I am not here to put anyones stuff down but dont get 3" filter it will be a waste, the ko3 is already taking in just about what it could take a 3" will make air start backing up and may lose you performance especially if its a flter on a stick. A 3" tbe will also make ur turbo overspeed and you will lose low end torque its just too big for our ko3s. A 3" downpipe to a 2.75" or 2.5" is the best set up with no downsides.Carbonio is ok, gives the car a bit of sound. However it's not a proper intake because it still uses the stock airbox, even if you use a replacement K&N filter (though it comes with a good replacement filter anyway)
Mine saw no real improvement in power, it maybe slightly more torquey, but its more of a visual thing under the bonnet and it's got a bit of an air roar under boost.
I need a proper intake now, even with the Carbonio it's a bottleneck really. I need a nice 3" intake to marry up with the 3" output.
It does every time you let off the throttle and get on it
. I was worried that it wont have the sound when i bought it but it sounds great. I will admit that my forge sounded brilliant though and that made the best noises and reminded me of the sound of a e46 m3, just a little.Sorry i meant K04, go on Awe tunings website and you will see what i mean about 3" tbe's and they sell exhausts or ask milltek, The stock airbox is a restriction so just putting a panel filter in there does nothing.If your car is remapped then you wont find torque a problem. But drive somebody else's and you will not like the non-instant get up and go. Most of the big power TFSI cars out there has 3" to 2.5". But if you dont drive you're car hard you can get away from overspeeding the turbo, but you cant get away from gutless torque from 1000-2000 rpm. trust me a smaller cat- back will give you so much of a better curve and in turn you're car will fell much better to drive. It wont be working has hard to give you the same performanceIndeed as Saul says, K04 on a Mk2 Cupra TFSi. Mine already has the APR 3" full system. The panel filter is really more of a bottle neck now. Torque isn't a problem, in fact if I get a bit less torque from a 3" intake my clutch will love me.
If you're happy with it and how it feels thats all that counts, but i am just the kinda of person that if something that i love can be improved and everyones got it, i will let everyone Know because i want all the leons to be kings of the road and to dominate Castle CombeMine has no trouble at all with low speed get up and go. Very drivable whether i tickle it or floor it. Certainly doesn't feel gutless anyway.
It's not somewhere I visit that often. 
But i'll be sure to dominate it next time I'm in the neighborhood. I went up there on the audi day just gone and went in Seat Bristol's cupra for a ride around the track and nothing stood in our way. I then went out with Seat again this time in my car (once i found my pink card) and i loved it, once again nothing stood in our way and the only thing that came past was a milltek Audi R8 and i had no chassis mods apart from eibach springs and it was my first time driving on track. This is what made me fall in love with my leon even more, because it felt like even if i overstepped the mark a little it was on my side and was touching 125 on the back straight. When i came off the track it felt like the car had'nt even seen it, it was a baking hot day and i never felt no heat soak and no pulling back. I feel that my s3 intercooler and Dbilas helped because when Seat looked on the laptop their intake temps were rather high.I think i drove past Castle Combe once.
