Yes i will just be running the standard speakers, i just want a unit which will play MP3 files. If the standard HU did i would bother changing it.

It's ultimately down to what you like the look of and what has the features you want, without knowing that ... the choice is almost endless. A budget would be a good idea too.

I went for the JVC AVX1 because at the time it was a little different and i wanted rid of my changer :)

If you have a look at the link above you'll see the 'size' of the problem.

I got it from caraudiodirect - get most of my gear from there. I think at the time it was about £370 but it's now superseeded but still available - I think around the £260 mark. Problem with the JVC is that it's a FAT face plate and sticks proud of the Leon dash. Didn't and doesn't bother me but it's not to everyones taste.

Also if you have an ipod, you could consider a unit with ipod connectivity or one of the usb flash drive capable units :)

Yea i noticed it sticks out from the dash, i dont think that would bother me either tbh. I dont have an ipod but i noticed that the jvc one that i posted has a SD card slot which would be handy

So what you need to do is write down all the features you 'need' and then short list the units that offer that and which ones offer you a little bit more for similar money.

Not saying there's anything wrong with the two you selected, just saying there's an ever growing choice which gets cheaper every time i look.

I know exactly what you are sayin mate but my only NEEDS are mp3 player and obv cd and radio, anything else would be a bonus like SD card slot etc. I think that the jvc one would be ideal for me but you always wonder if you can get more for your money.

PS do i need special keys to get the Aura headunit out?

I think i will go for the JVC one, there is money off it on caraudiosecurity, it has a color display and the added bonus of SD card slot also as you said it will go with the dash better.

Sure does not lol. Thanks for the advice, im still thinking about this. Im now thinking about a much better headunit but second hand in order to keep the price down. My mate has a JVC and i had a pioneer before and both are very reliable units.
