I currently have a rockford fosgate 500bd amp and was wondeering what would be the best subwoofer to buy to go with it? I've previously have got through two pioneer TS-W121SPL subs both of which have blown. I'm now looking at getting a pioneer TS-W3004SPL, i only have £100 to spend so i'm not expecting to get a top quality sub just something that can bang out some deep bass to Hip hop and r&b, and will not start to burn when i crank up the volume.

your best bet will be to go second hand then, probably ebay.
go on talkaudio, theyre helpful with this kind of stuff, but youll probably need to go 12'' and over the 100 pound budget. if you want to buy a couple of JBL subs never really been used for 75 pounds you can have mine. then just gotta buy a box

It's a decent sub, but I'd take a JL one over it anytime.
jl audio is one of the best subs around.
i have a 12 inch w7 and it rocks[B)]
The jl audio 10 inch w3 can be found second hand and should level the pioneer for sonic, performance and dynamics.
JARVISTA please dont waste your money cutting corners coz you'll end up comming back to look for jl audio.

I'd never buy a sub second hand unless I knew the previous owner personally. Too risky that the sub is knackered.

Give Steve@ megawatts a try Tel: 01928500015 Email: [email protected] and tell him Pete from ICECavern sent you and I'm sure he can do you a deal on something nice for your cash ;) And he'll be better than any mail order dealer ;)

It's pot luck buying second hand drivers. You were lucky, doesn't mean someone else will be. Unfortuanatly there are people that overdrive underpowered amps and damage speakers, then sell them on after buying a new one

ive got 2 jl 10w3s and if you are considering them id say that they are well worth looking into. i dont know how much they are new, but i bought 2 in a ported box for a steal. i think im only putting 380wrms through what can be 600wrms+ and it still sounds mint

JL Audio 10" i recon all the way. mate had one in his RS, was perfect.
That said i have a 12" JBL, about 400W, but running at about 300 odd..
Love that sub, but veru heavy. i will be buying a 10" next time for the weight.

Looks like i'm gonna have to try and stretch the budget then. What is the rms of the jl 12W3v3? on the birth cert of the my amp it's nearly 700rms is this sub a good match for my amp? and what one should i be looking @ getting the 2,4 or 8ohm?

I found this about your amp:

RMS Power at 4 Ohms 300 W x 1
RMS Power at 2 Ohms 600 W x 1

Going on that
the 12/10W3v3-4 is the sub that you would probably be best with, but maybe with rockford the power figures may be a little generous, i dont know this but if that may be the case then go for the 12/10W3v3-2

just as a note if it makes any help, the 12/10 is the size of the sub and the end number is the impedance if i were you id go with the 12/10W3v3-4

this is the power chart from the jl site, by the looks of it either sub will run off your amp, the 2ohm will probably be better at a second look, but then i wouldnt want you to void your warrenty

What sort of price are these subs by the way does anyone know? new i mean
