If you look in bills thread on porting the manis, the Walls arnt thinner, it's mainly just the collector that gets ported. If my spare doesn't sell I'll just get it done at work then pay to get it fitted.

Yeh good years are mint, had them on my corsa. Were bloody expensive though! Think I'm gonna burn out the yokos during the summer and stick uniroyals on for September time. That's if the yokos can last the summer lol.

The place that fitted my last set of Eagle F1's messed up so I got 2 for £120 balanced, fitted and tracked lol I doubt that'll happen again though!

I've seen the thread in Bills section, and it seems to be the way to go... but I'm just a little sceptical that a bit of "sanding" (cos thats what it is basically) can do just as much to improve performance as an aftermarket hi flow mani thats had hundreds, maybe thousands of £££'s spent on development. I'd like to see a back to back RR graph before and after porting really, but I don't think there's one up anywhere yet. It'll make for interesting reading, and if it really is that good then I guess thats the best place to spend my money. Although if it really was that good, surely everyone would be doing it, and not fannying around with unreliable, occaisonally poor fitting aftermarket stuff.

It's just the same idea with a ported/ polished head. Just from doing that you can see 10% gains. E36 m3 we did at work with schrick cams made 400hp, that's 60hp up jus from a mild set of cams and ported/ polished head. Quite allot of material gets taken away, it's a little more than sanding and looking at some of the manifolds hardly any of them have had any development at all, half of them don't even fit properly haha and loads are just cheap castings

And knowone really upgrades the manifolds much with standard turbos and people that now have been doing it seem to be going for a ported standard one, I know it's the way I was going to go, although it wouldn't have been bill doing it, I'd be getting it done at work for half the price haha

I'm mot fussed about more power anymore really it's plenty quick enough to hassle most things on the road/ scare the hell out of me/ put a massive grin on my face lol would have been doing it more just to say I had really, which would make it far too expensive. May still do it in the future though!

Im going to get my manifold taken off again to see if its cracked if it has i think im going to opt for the JBS manifold as RobbieC has been running one on his and it gets abused but the manifold hasnt cracked yet. But at £370 odd its not cheap

I can get it ported for you if you want aswell mate, up to you though. Ive stuck it through the hotwash and that again for you today and its in my car, will try get it boxed up for you this weekend do you have all new gaskets too? I found some at work i'd forgotten about if you need new ones!

Popped into motoscope today after work and my filter i ordered for the hybrid ages and ages ago had finally arrived, so i got that bashed on, its fooking massive but managed to squeeze it in there, just! Had to cut down the reducer until it was almost useless and cut half an inch off the t.i.p.

Just need the coldside tb hose to show up, hate that blue one!

Scott sorry to mess you around mate but i was just out at the motor to see that its a manifold to turbo bolt thats came loose the thing was sticking half way out haha got it tightened now and were back to a lovely spooling noise... So can i just leave that manifold with you

If i get my turbo back it will be getting fitted in 2 weeks and hopefully mapped the weekend after can you send me that guys details so i can get in touch with him to find out how much he is gonna charge?

Also do you fancy coming to meet us when i go down? Maybe compare the 2 cars see if its money well spent?

Think im gonna order one of those ITG filters aswell for the 3" MAF

You got any parts left i could use for the 3" MAF to my Forge tip? I could buy them off you mate if there lying about doing nothing?

Steve, when you get your hybrid fitted get them to use some Nordlock washers on the mani to turbo bolts to stop them from backing out

If I'm free when your in for mapping I might pop down

I've got an 80mm connector hose from the maf to the filter I was gonna use and the 70mm metal joiner to join the tip to the reducer. I used the reducer to fit the filter to the 70mm maf though! You'll have to cut the hose joiners and the tip down quite abit to fit the filter in, it's huuuugeeeee haha

And yeh no worries about the mani mate, no point buying it if you don't need it

I was suppose to get the blooming nordlocks fitted but my mate decided to put normal washers on it which i wasnt happy about so i was round at another mates house there whos gonna do all the work for me and we will be using the nordlock washers for sure! Yeh mate you should pop round if you are free i will let you know if i get booked in.

Im getting the LCR injectors and MAF put on the car before i drive down aswell as the turbo now i know this isnt smart to do it but will it cause any damage to the car if i drive it like 180 miles to the place where it gets mapped AS long as i stay off boost and dont horse it?

Hmm you think im better off just getting my own 70 mm pipe and reducer then Scott? 80-70mm ill need for MAF to TIP then?

Yeh probably mate, you'll need the 80mm bit of hose to join the filter to the maf too. The filter is massive like, you need to sort of crush it in but it's just foam so it's all good.

Think you'll be fine driving it steady, might just use a ton of fuel though
