White Smoke?

Yesterday driving home, i notice this cloud of white smoke coming out my exhaust and then from my engine bay.

What does the white smoke mean?

Checked:

Oil level is fine
Coolant is between the MAX and MIN

Hmmmm but the exhaust smoke smells bad. It was pretty bad yesterday when the white smoke was coming out like a cloud.

Had you just started?? Could well have been condensation. Is it consistent

white smoke is usually blown turbo. It might have a slight blue tint to it too. Head gasket signs would normally be milky coolant in the reservior.

i would say turbo , when mine went white smoke and slight blue smoke also

black smoke usually oil. white smoke, water or worse

Black smoke indicates running rich, too much fuel, oil will burn blueish.

+ plus 1 black smoke when exhaust was blowing causing the car to run lean so ecu use more fuel to compensate so it ran rich

Just out of curiosity, may we ask the age of your FR?

Hmmm it's not consistent all the time but when i start it and warm it up there is smoke coming out of it and it smells bad.

Just went to the dealer and they said nothing wrong with my car. The oil below the turbo was oil dust (?) which burned to give that bad smell and from the exhaust, giving the cloud effect.

They also did a oil check, they said its fine.

Car is running perfectly normal from a 50mile drive. Giving it the beans etc.

Are sure the dealer isnt just blowing you off?
ive never seen white smoke come from a tsi.
Only from a skoda octavia tdi when the turbo died.

Nope. My dealer service is excellent. Can't not fault them.

If my turbo would have blown wouldn't the engine management light come on or go to limp mode?

From a 50mile drive to my dealer, i had no problems, the car was driving normal, no power lost etc!

I have no idea about tsi but when my octavia tdi blew the turbo no lamp or errors appeared in the console.
