Also does the temperature needle get to 90 and hold there?

Hello all,

My needle holds at 90 but what does it mean when it does this?

and my engine light is on and mine is the EGR valve which i need to take off and clean out or buy a new one.

If it doesn't hold at 90 when moving the stat needs changing as it can't hold the temperature at 90.

My engine management light came on at the weekend, I ran a test and came back with temp sensor or thermostat, I changed the temp sensor and rested via vcds but low and behold the light has come back on, my temp needle gets up to 90 but goes down to 60 when travelling at 70 mph on the motorway, now lee69 does this sound like the thermostat?
