changed the battery the other day and i never had this problem before i changed it but asoon as i put the new one on i went to fire up the car and it just turned over for about 15 seconds then it finaly started up but the car was missing like hell as i was giving it sum revs other wise it would stall.
i held the revs on 2000 for about 20 seconds and it cleared up my freind sed it could have been the imobaliser ajusting. so a week went on no problems. went to start the car bout a week later and and i got the exact same problem car just turned over for exactly 8 seconds then the oil light flashed and beeped and the car started up doing the same again. i held it on 2000 revs and again it cleared after about 10 seconds.

didnt happen then aboput a week later again exsactly same turned over for 8 seconds then oil light flashed and beeped and car started missing like hell stinking of petrol and then cleared after holding revs up for 10 seconds.

any one have any ideas?

ye got to wait for my mate to get back from holiday as he has a machine to read codes. not paying seat 65 quid to take there hands out of the wallets and plug a machine in robbing gits. was hoping to get soome one who has came across same problem.

I've never heard of it my self but there might be some info on here I'm sure someone's heard of it before ;)

The throttle body probably lost it's calibration due to having 0 volts through it.

The machines cost in the region of £10000 they have to make that money back some how.

no need to reset the throttle body in case of replacing a battery, well unless you changed it while driving down the motorway.

Could be a coincidence, were the days in question cold? could it be the coolant temp sensor.
could it be a poorly reading MAF which the ecu adapted to but lost this when battery was reset?

could be tricky to trace..
I presume its turning over well and not struggling? same spec battery?

first of is it the same specification as the old battery? Is the Battery Connection flush and tightly done up? If else fail try and get a another battery as it could possibly be faulty as you are only geting this issue when you put this battery in. In the past a friend of mine didnt tighten his battery up properly and it kept cutting out every so oftern, removed the connectors and reseated them he didnt have a problem since and he has sold the car nw.

i'd be inspection ground wires and the negative, bad grounding doesnt get on with the electrics at all, had it on many occasions,

had the ecu read today. my cars reading a temprature of -28 out side and no i dont live in the north pole haha. temprature is 7 deg. would this be causing the problem also noticed my temp gauge isnt working. going to replace the engine temprature switch today see what happns

had the engine temprature switch changed today. so far cars running perfectly.
