will it fit ( gearbox )....?

I own a ibiza cupra sport 2ltr 8v engine code AGG, will a gearbox from a vw golf(8a) fit?
i have been told by my friend who is selling the gearbox that it'l fit but i need to buy a 1.8 clutch......
I am suspicious about this so any help will be appreciated alot.
