Front tyres have got the usual wear on the inside. Will they pass the MOT next week?

the rule is it must have tread on the center 3/4 of the tyre, that has......well.....just hope the police dont see it or thats 3 points on your license.
The car is not lowered and tracking is good - maybe these Avons wear badly? They have done 15k miles.
I don't believe they are a safety risk - there's still 3mm tread across most of the tyre - but they obviously need changing.
Might try Toyos this time.
Thanks all
not lowered and tracking is good.. well something is wrong as they shouldnt wear like that.
You dont think there is a safety risk as there is 3mm tread across the rest of the tyre. Well the rest of the tyre doesnt help if the worn section fails,
You could soon be down to the thread/metal with massively increase thread of a blow out.

I've had a 4 wheel alignment done and the tracking is fine - mk4's just seem to ruin the insides of front tyres. Avons are pretty soft so maybe they suffer more.
I realise the tyres need changing, and I'm not saying I'd drive much further on them - but they're not "dangerous" for dhort journeys in town.
Anyway, getting some Hankook Ventus V12 evo k110's put on tonight.

I've got the Hankooks, crackin' tyres, I rate them alot, equal to toyos in the dry but much much better than them in the wet.
Dangerous or not they are illegal - if you get stopped it's 3 points a corner for defective tyres.
Do you tend to chuck the car around corners and roundabouts? This could account for the poor wear.
