Hi Guys,

dont know if anyone can shed some light on a wind noise in my car. (ibiza mk4 cupra 3dr). The wind noise is fairly loud coming from the drivers side front window or mirror. dealer said they cant fix it. (w@nkers) ive read a few threads on here. but nothing has been said that is a sure fire way of fixing it. ive run my fingers all the way up the window when drving to see if ican feel any wind coming through, but there is none. but the noise is still there! Really really annoying!

Cheers in advance

There have been quite a few threads on this, people have as ruhul said, put it down to a problem with the design of the mk4, i don't know if wind deflectors would help though.
But i, and most people seem to have it... Not very well refined...

I've not noticed any wind noise on my cupra. I have driven with no music and the most annoying this is a faint dashboard rattle every now and then.

I do how ever have a noise if the car is sat ticking over in neutral. If I put the clutch in it goes away. Its just had a new fly wheel, clutch, and release bearing. And when the noise was still there it went straight back in to have a look at the gearbox and a possible box refurb. Went to pick the car up earier aaaannnnddd.......noise is still there. The garage didnt refurb the gearbox as they said every thing is fine. All the synchromesh, bearings, release bearing, clutch, fly wheel, other bearings, everything down there is totally fine!? no play?! no noise from the box when it was out?! so the garage said its just one of those noises im going to have to live with as they cant do any thing about it?! :( hopefully its just a noise and nothing more, like your wind noise. I know which noise I would rather. lol

Ben I think I may have the same noise as you, I think its just down to where the gearstick sits at idle, when you next get the noise just knock the gearstick over a little and it will go away
