Hi All,

Anyone else had issues with their windscreen demist setting on their Ibiza? Usually its really good, but this morning it suddenly stopped working, and instead the air started coming out from the sides...is there anything that can clog it up?

Thanks.

might be a stuck or knackered airflow motor

used to be common on the mk3's a lot

with blower on low and ya head down low try changing directions on the airflow and see if you can hear the motor running

When I change from windscreen to other blower there's a small whirring noise. When I turn all the blowers off manually and set it to windscreen it makes a loud noise, but no air seems to come out of anywhere.

Filter seems fine. Couple of days ago you could feel the air coming out, but nothing at all now. Is this gonna be expensive to have looked at at Seat?

I'm not a massive fan, as last time they charged me £50 for my squeaking brakes, and all they did was drive it around for a day and tell me it was my front driver side one.

do you want the bad news!!! Mine packed up when in warranty in 2007. parkstones in Leigh essex diagnosed a blocked heater matrix and changed it under warranty but said the rad was full of rad weld!!(CRAP) anyway packed up again out of warranty and quoted me over £1000 to fix so took it elsewhere. Had the hoses pressure jetted and solved the problem. Yours my friend could be anything!!! The heater control box is notorious for failing or could be your filter or even crap sucked into the system i.e. leaf gunk. At least you have hot air. Not being sarcastic as i am useless with cars but have you checked all the fuses? If you know one get an independant cheap mechanic to have a look. good luck

Cheers bud, I doubt I'd go back to the Seat, just gotta find a mechanic willing to have a look. Not helped by the fact that its xmas time either.

More detail.... I had the rad drained then all the hoses off that would come off and cleaned these then used a pressure air line through the rast of it. Unfortunately though my mechanic only charged me £200 for labour it was only partially successful.
