Hello all

Picked up a 57 plate Ibiza last week for my girlfriend - to replace her 54 plate..

She is pleased with it but there is a problem with the windscreen washer jets..

First of all the rear stopped working and I have just notice that despite filling the bottle up this morning it is empty !

Is there a common easy fix to this before I take it back to the stealer ?

Searched and noticed there was a problem with the rear wiper wash leaking but there isn't any water in the boot !

thanks for any help !

Try this:

Get someone to spray the rear washer for 10 seconds or so and you have a look around.

1. Check behind the front n/s wheel, you might see water/mix dripping down which leads to the fault in the bay. Most likely the pipe underneath the airbox has blown apart. Remove the airbox, fit the 2 "ends" of the pipe together and tighten the jubilee clip.
2. Check the cloth trim on the o/s in the boot. If this is soggy then it will have popped off behind that. I think you need to remove the plastic at the top of the seatbelt to get into it. Should be easy enough from there.
3. Check the boot plastic, there could be water dripping from that. In this case the pipe has popped off where it joins the rear wiper/washer. Remove the bootlid plastic and attach the pipe accordingly.

definitely doesn't seem to be coming from the back - just topped the bottle up and there is water on the drive from the front passenger side...

thanks for the replies :)

Fixed mine today, told dad to press the washers whilst I had a look and it was pouring washer fluid out of the front passenger side. The pipe had disconnected, just pushed it back together and it works fine again now.

Thanks mate - how did you access it ?

happened to mine this winter, not sure if the pipe work is the same as on an FR but theres a join in the pipe underneath the ECU.

I'm sick of mine popping apart at the first sign of a frost morning. Pressure just blows the join apart. I've only used cable ties so far to try and keep it together but may have to find one of these small jubliee clips and give them a go.

Right fixed mine this morning :)

Should have been a 2 minute job - basically the pipes had blown apart at a bayonet junction just before it gets to the baulk head.

Unfortunately, I had presumed the pipe had come off at the water bottle and had already spent an hour getting through the trim around the o/s wheel - DOH !!!

Here is a photo of the offending join...
