Hey thanks for replying :)!

From what i understand from the other posts to SERE they have discontinued the black wing mirror covers and they only come primed now which isnt great!

So looks like il have to use the body shop instead :(!

Welcome, what about trying it for yourself? Though it shouldn't be too much at a bodyshop.

Took me forever to get my covers off, absolute pain in the arse putting the driver side back on.

They still supply them on the Cupra/Boc's. Try asking for the part numbers below instead, they are the numbers for black gloss covers.

They're a doddle to get off! Takes no more than 2mins! Wrap the end of a flat head screwdriver with a bit of masking tape (so as not to scrape anything) and hold it up to the join where it meets the plastic underneath and give it a dunt with your other hand, once the tip's in just lever the mirror cap away from the mirror itself.

Just take your time and you won't break anything :) I've done this on my own and my brothers car without breaking anything and tbh I wasn't being overly gentle either so the chances of you breaking anything are slim.

Next time I'm gonna make a video of how to do it as some folks have done it the hard way and it's taken them ages

As for refitting them just line up the tabs with the holes and hit it a slap (make sure you're not wearing any rings when you do this bit)

Hey, thanks for all the help everyone!

I got the caps of by taking out the mirror, then simply unclipping it so no risk of the clips snapping!

Secondly i rang my local seat garage and they said you cant get them, so i rang seat accessories and have ordered myself the covers :D for cheaper than it was going to be to paint them :)!

If only a slap worked for me, it bloody didn't. It kept popping back off, i literally had to hug the mirror.

Worked on my brothers car too. Maybe you just got a particularly sticky one or didn't hit it hard enough. The clips are sturdy enough anyway so they can take a bit of force. I don't know my own strength half the time n tend to overdo it but didn't have any problems. In fact I'd say it's possibly the easiest mod I've ever done

I thought the clips were pretty shite to be honest, especially the longer ones at the top.

Because of them all not fitting in at the same time, some kept hitting the sides of the holes causing one of them to snap, weirdly when they arrived you could see a slight crack in the clip/stalk thing. So that didn't help, its stayed on anyway so its fine.

Even on the white cover, the top one almost broke off because of the bending down of them trying to pop it off. Nightmare, I never want to take them off again! lol.

Hi guys new here! Please don't bite! :)

I've too currently have some alluminum wing mirrors covers I'd love to put on but I can't get the mirror out, I've literally pulled and pulled with a sucker puller thing and it won't budge :( I don't want to break the clips, what part exactly comes away?, I've already noticed on the new covers one of the clips has a crack and is flimsy do you think this will affect the fit once I actually get them on?

Any guidance would be great. Thanks.

Hi Maxt890, welcome :)

To get the mirror off I used a trim tool, which is in the shape of any normal cutlery knife. I levered it off from the right hand side of the mirror. All that holds it in is one clip that it slots into. Probably best to put something behind the right hand side and pull it towards you.

If it doesn't work, I will take pics for you tonight.

As with the covers, I also had one cracked, it was very flimsy and actually snapped off. It was the longest one inside the cover. When I got it on, the cover still managed to clip in and stay secure.

Hi Char!

Thankyou for your reply just what I needed some detailed instructions :)

Would this tool work? Link Here: ww.tooled-up.com/Product.asp?PID=13976 add a w

Also when looking at the mirror it seems to be attached to a plastic frame, do you take the plastic out with the mirror or do you have to get in between the mirror and the plastic lining, by lining I mean a plastic backing piece or frame.

Please Help :)

No worries, yeah get between the mirror and the plastic frame and just lever it out.

If you push the corner of the mirror closest to the door (just with your hand) you should be able to see the bit that holds the mirror through the gap. Again, I can take pics when I get home for you if you still cant do it.

That trim tool looks fine.

So the plastic bit stuck on behind the mirror comes off too or is it just mirror ie the lens?

Wish I could explain it better lol

YES - there is a black plastic frame stuck to the mirror. This is removed complete with the mirror glass. ( Take note to unclip the mirror wires if you have heated mirrors )

Then you will be able to see the 5 clips that hold on the cover to the frame.
Undo the 5 clips and remove the cover.

Place the new cover on to the frame and push/slap the cover until all 5 clips are secure.

Plug in the mirror glas wires and push the mirror glass with its frame in to the housing.
(make sure the slot on the outside edge locates and slides easily.

Test the mirror.
