Yeah, it is a well known
problem within the dealer network. It affects about 5% of cars but there is not a fix for it. The only way to resolve is to get a new car. Best get back in touch with your dealer and arrange to order a new car as soon as possible mate.
Or alternatively, it might be that when the car is running the wipers tuck away for aerodynamics and when the car stops, they raise into a maintenance position so you can access them and they don't interfere with the bonnet.
