Has anyone with a Cupra (or SEAT) Leon/Formentor of model year 2025 or 2026 managed to make work wireless charging of a phone which has Qi2 protocol? Examples of such phones are iPhone12 or newer, HMD Skyline, Google Pixel 10. Tested a few such Androids and iPhones in several Cupra Leon's manufactured in late 2025. The result was always that the Qi icon of infotainment screen turned to red indicating some kind of error and wireless charge just does not work. On the other hand, the same phones worked fine in pre-facelift Leon's when tried wireless charging.

I don't bother with wireless charging as, if I do, combined with using my phone for navigation (Google maps / Waze) plus music (Spotify) the phone's battery heats up too much and cries enough.

I therefore use the traditional method of connection with a USB cable.

Cars; Ateca VZ MY 23 and 25
Phones; Samsung Galaxy S23 and S25.

Factory-installed wireless charger is too weak & slow but I don't like cables lying around. I keep a 30w USB Type-C Quick car charger and a short cable in center storage box, only bring it out when phone needs charging, plug it into 12V cigarette lighter socket and put it back in when enough charge is attained. At all other times, phone is connected to car for maps & music, via wireless.
