Wiring Question

Hello Folks

I am in the middle of fitting a boost gauge but i am getting annoyed with the lights . I have removed the dimming unit and face plate but i can't for the life of me remove the round bit where the wires go into the light switch. Anyone any ideas how to remove this so i can get to wiring?

Push it in and turn it clockwise iirc.

sorry to steal the thread but how does the light switch panel come apart? i'm sure there is a thread on here saying how to remove it? just cant find it now!

As fobez says, push headlight knob in, turn clockwise and pull it out.
