Wishbones

I picked up an advisory notice after my car passed it's MOT last week and it stated the following:

Nearside front (wishbone rear); Bonded suspension unit deteriorated but can function as intended.

Offside front (wishbone rear); Bonded suspension unit deteriorated but can function as intended.

I'm assuming it's referring to the bushes and not the wishbones themselves?

I'm keen to get it sorted now as I rely on my quite a bit, so is it worth replacing just the bushes, or both while the car would be temporarily off the road?

How easy is it to undertake as I'm always keen to learn how to do things myself?

Here, there and everywhere ;)
Advisory is referring to the bushes themselves.

Ive purchased a set of Powerflex bushes with the intentions of getting non-bushed wishbones from GSF/Euro Car Parts and getting them built up to swap straight out with my less than tidy looking ones currently on the car.

Although new OE wishbones with bushes are only about £45-50 (i think) per side from Seat themselves..speak to David @ SERE on here

the design of the bush allows play and not all mot testers will think about this, they will just see that there is play/wear in it.
poly bushes are the way to go though much more hard wearing.
but i would say unless you have a special tool (bush puller) i wouldnt attempt it.
it takes me 3/4 of an hour a side with it. the hardest thing is stopping the bush pitching because its in a plastic cup. if it was metal it would be easy

All I was hoping to replace where the bushes and wishbones, is there anything else I should take into consideration while I'm doing it?

Where did you source the Powerflex bushes from?

Im going to replace the bottom ball joints and possibly the track rod ends (both not required) but Im going to do them to tighten the steering feel a little more as it feels quite sloppy at present.

Got them direct as I deal with them through work.

Any of the forum sponsors should be able to supply them or look at the SuperPro alternatives from Awesome GTI

The ball joints on the end of each wishbone may aswell be replaced imo

Youll have to remove them and fit them to your new wishbones anyway if you do keep them

Vibratechnics, Powerflex or Superpro..all 3 differ in prices

Speak to Bill, Awesome GTI or any of the other sponsors on here, they should be able to offer you some form of bush setup.

My setup stands me at abouth £30 for bushes and wishbones then prob another £10 for powdercoating the wishbones before they go on
