worth putting a performance cam in my 1.4?

Gotta question that you 2.0l owners may find stupid/funny... but do you think its worth putting a performance cam in my 1.4? if its even possible that is?? i just want a bit more poke... :rolleyes: And being only 18 i cant afford to insure a gti... :(

I doubt anyone produces a cam for the 1.4 8v. It's not really the engine to be manufacturing performance parts for.

wait a year, I had mine when I was 19... insurance wasn't too bad

Oh I have seen a 1.4 8v cam :) Is a good market for people thinking they would be better off putting a race cam in, instead of buying a better car ;)

not really worth it. when i had the 1.4 i had loads of plans but never did them as it seemed pointless. even thought about swapping engine for 1.6 AFT engine (100hp) but decided to just wait till a GTI was affordable. so much more power than the 1.4

:-o nearly identical to me but im paying more than twice as much just for an 8v.

:p:p:p:p:p ner ner jealous? its all about shopping about and telling porkies to them IE oh but directline is 300quid cheaper, then going to the next company and doing the same until they cant go no more OR tell you politely to jog on!

i paid 1047 for the 1.4 without any bonus and now im paying 1053 for the cupra 8v with one years NCB :(

lol i pay 53 a month or 699.60 including intrest on my 2.0 16v all mods declared ( even nos) and soon to be uprated
