Would this seem a logical idea for finding boost leaks ?

Found this link on the internet while searching for ways of detecting boost leaks.

Ive had the 17965 overboost code for over a year now and want to use my xmas time off to sort the problem ! Have any of you used methods similair to the above ? Has it worked ?

You don't have to remove the hose at the turbo intake, you can put 3-4psi through the entire intake system and that will test the all the inlet system, remember don't go above 3-4psi or you could blow a seal!

i have never really checked my car for leaks just went outside and pretty much every clip was only screwdrive tight. could this cause a leak?
