Xenon White bulbs

Basically, are these legal? They state they are in the descriptions but still not sure!

Why do people choose HIDs over these?

Because they won't be as bright as HIDs by any means, and they probably won't be as white. They may have a blue tint to them. Perfectly legal assuming they output mostly white light.

If you want brighter lights but don't want the hassle of HID's then get osram nightbreakers.

E2A: They don't even know what they are compatible with. Lower spec Ibizas take H4 bulbs, not H7
E2A again: It says in the ad that they consume the same as normal bulbs at 100w max. 100W bulbs are illegal, and if they are 100W bulbs, then they don't use the same amount of power as standard bulbs.

Ive got osram nightbreakers fitted at the moment, but they arnt white enough for me!

So are these still decent to see ect?

They may be 'whiter' (read bluer) but they won't be brighter. If you really must have the colour, then I'd say the osram cool blue range will be your best bet. They are at least good quality bulbs to start with.

Most of these 'blue' halogen bulbs on ebay are just normal bulbs with some blue dye on them.

I really recommend these but I really can't compare them to Osram nightbreakers so I couldn't comment.

I only bought these because I saw someone's pic on here of them and I was well impressed. I think you're only going to get what you want from HID's though.

I've had these back along before HID's.
My advise...don't buy them...there is a dual carrigeway with no street lights near me....I could not even see the curbs! They are normal bulbs just coloured glass....
It's also hit and miss with the colour difference I've noticed.
Also Illegal.

HID kits are cheap enough nowadays anyway!

Has any had a problem with there HID's. i had HID's on my 1.4 ibiza and they headlight allingment went badly outta line, they wer lighting up house roofs more than the road and they wudnt adjust back down so i had to change back to standard bulbs for now untill i find out a good replacement.

Yes, I did, most people just leave it and blind everyone.
You need H7R Bulbs, or dip your headlights manually like mad and then not be able to use high beam...

Anyway...£10 on ebay for a set of H7R HID bulbs.....
