Yellow 03 LC faded paint

Anyone else suffered with this? As I washed and waxed it yesterday to find it has faded really badly in some areas.

I'm planning on contacting my dealer tomorrow to find out where I stand and what they'll do.

Meguir's NXT shampoo and wax etc

nothing cheap and or nasty then, id at least contact the dealers then. warranty is warranty!

thats the problem with flat colours.
my ebony black one was nearly grey the colour had faded that badly.i had to mop the whole car and now it gets waxed atleast once a week.

my 04 cupra (early) is still a really sharp red, pity its starting to show swirl marks quite badly right after washing, waxing is a must these days!

But it's still not good for a car under 3 years old! We don't pay £10k + for a car and have fading paint..

nature of modern paints i suppose.
we regulary mop 6 month old bmw's at work with the same symptons swirls and fading.

I've got a yellow LCR and there's a notable difference in shade between the fuel flap and the surrouning paintwork. I figured it probably needs a good wax so I gave the whole car a meg's 3 stage treatment last week and will try to give it another next weekend.

Would be interested to see how you go with the warranty. Might be worth looking in to. Mine's due to expire in April.

is the car in daylight most of the time??? i.e sunshine or shade, mine is a flat blue (extreme) I try and keep it in the shade where possible and colour is still sharp. Yellows do fade fast though.

Sounds like a plan and TBH if we've both got the same problem then it is a way of highlighting it with the dealer...

Excellent. Although I've been thinking about it an I know that the front bumper has been resprayed so I might have a bit of trouble. I wouldn't mind a new set of 'R' badges though....

We could do a:

I turn up at 10am and question about my paint, you turn up at 10:15 and also question the paint.. One of us then asks about the other about paint probs and then both say look 2 customers with the same issue, same age of car what's going on etc etc...

I don't think any two of my panels are exactly the same shade of yellow. It's especially noticeable between the sills and the skirts, but that could just be the different angles reflecting the light. Not a great problem anyway.

I picked OVNI for that very reason. My last car was a Flash Red Golf (same red as SEAT use), and it faded to pinky orange in no time.

It's worrying that yellow seems to go the same way, especially as you're using decent products on it.

It seems that OVNI does that, the plastic parts of mine ie bumpers, spoiler, filler cover etc were all a different shade to the steel parts and some of those were a bit off, the roof was very pale looking! No worries tho I traded it for an Ebony black one!

My Ibiza changed colour on just about every panel. In certain lights it looked awful. The dealer & SEAT UK will argue that the bumpers and fuel cap will be a different shade as they're not sprayed whilst attached to the car.
