Really sorry to hear about the bad news. Just would like to know when you had the rear number plate area and side reflectors sprayed gloss black where they removed? if so how do they come of the rear bumper.
Thanks Ad

thanks matey, I got the work done at AD Panelcraft in Milton Keynes, the numberplate and reflectors are one piece that separates from the bumper, so when I removed it, they just split.. I have some pictures I'll upload when I get home from work :)

any update on the car? heres hoping its back on the road by the time im down Ali's next week

yes.. a rather substantial update. Had a phone call from Ali yesterday telling me I was the luckiest bugger around.. Basically it had slipped 3 teeth and caught again, it had ripped the belt to sheds but thats all the damage there was. so a new cam belt later and I'm up and running again :D
All in all, happy days..

Unit 18 sure are good! I'd recommend them every day of the week! I'm picking my car up later on so I'll let everyone know the difference between the 2 maps :)

They charged me around the 150 mark, but that was for a full rear bumper respray, rear centres done black, centre part of the front bumper sprayed black and all the front grilles and LCR splitter done gloss black too :) so a fair amount of spraying done for not too much money ;)

Well to be honest, its not a massive difference from the standard grey colour so most people probably wouldn't notice it, I personally prefer it with the black front and rear grilles too :D
just if you get the back done you really need the front done too :D

Super lucky with the belt!
Yeah tell me about it.. Couldn't believe it when I got the call.

ha ha well to be honest, I think I'm due some luck. That saturday I nearly chopped my thumb off, my iPhone had a 'catastrophic hardware failure' (as said by apple) and my car tried to blow itself to bits ;)
I have taken her out for a spin with the new map on and I must say its not too bad, obviously being used to the jabbasport map with full boost/torque kicking in all at the same time, makes it feel a touch slower. I have a boost leak that needs desperately sorting out and then it'll go back in for a bit more of an 'aggressive tweak' ;)

What time are you going to be there from/to on tuesday?

yeah it was just a killer that it happened all within the space of hours lol.. With regards to the map, Ali said that he's got no worries about tweaking it after the car has settled down a bit :D

Ah, was going to say, if your there later on in the afternoon then I'd pop by.. but that won't be till around 5ish as I would need to get home from work and pick the car up ;)

when I was picking my car up from Unit18, I was told I had a boost leak coming from EGR 90degree silicone hose, they had tried to temporary repair but running 40psi on over boost the duct tape was no match for the pressure so I had a go at repairing it.
The culprit

My temporary repair ;)

The repair was done by using some windscreen glue and lots and lots of duct tape, left for a few hours to harden, took it out for a spin yesterday and it seems to of held up, will be getting a new hose as soon as SFS open on Monday :D
