ha ha thanks.. To be honest, I havent had a chance to use it yet, the car is still on the drive with no boost pipework, just waiting for the bits to be customised then I can start using my new key :D I am looking forward to it more though. One small problem is that my dad keeps getting it mixed up with the Tiguan keys, goes out to get in the Tiguan and my car opens

wish i could do it...i would be scared of f'ing it up!
It was dead simple in the end.. brought the blank from eBay.. PM'd him with my SKC code that I got with the spare key and he cut it and sent it in the post. From ordering to my door was less than 2 days :D The hardest part was changing the blade over from the blank one to the cut one, it was only difficult as I had to try and find something small enough to knock the roll pin out with ;)

Mate, where did you get the virgin transponder? And how did you know it was the right one? I've got the key, the blade but I broke the transponder from my spare key..... :(

Update time again..

After having the Jabbasport map removed and the Unit 18 'Motech' map installed I have been hoping to get out and have a bit of a play with my new map. This has not been able to happen due to a massive boost leak on the main inlet hose just off the EGR valve.
I have a very good friend who works in the fabrication business and asked him if he could 'custom' me up a new piece of pipe so that it will never break..
So here are some pictures of the build up of the pipe:

Old Pipe first..

As you can see from the pipework, there are a lot of joins/places for boost leakage. This has been resolved by making one solid pipe from the inlet manifold to the 'custom made' MAP sensor
So here is what the pipe started out lie looking like:

Was then welded into place in a jig:

After picking the pipe up on a friday evening I was eager to get it fitted to the car so that I could get her running for the coming weekend. This is where we ran into the first problem.
When you are using silicone hoses you are able to flex the pipes to fit, when the pipe is solid however it will not flex, as my mate had made the pipe up to the exact same spec as the old one there was no way to take into account how much the pipe flexed before it was able to fit to the MAP sensor, this meant that when I went to fit the pipe, it fouled on the alternator pulley.. A few pics showing this:

So.. Back to the workshop where it was cut and re-welded to fit.. back on for the next morning, I then found that it was quite tight between the new piece of pipe, the MAP sensor housing and the outlet port of the FMIC, the silicone hoses had to be stretched to fit which wasn't ideal, because the hoses were being stretched on, they would only just go over the swaging on the ali pipes which meant that as soon as I tried to push any boost through them they popped off.. back to the workshop again, this time though it was with the MAP sensor housing, he added a few inches to either side of the housing which put less stretch on the silicone hoses but more importantly allowed me to be able to get a few jubilee clips on each connection. Here are some more pics,

'Custom' MAP sensor housing, made a bit more 'Custom':

I must just say a massive thank you to Rick making the pipe up for me. It ended up being quite a pain in the ass with lots of tooing and frowing from his workshop to get it right, then on top of that me constantly nagging him to see when it was done ;)

Thanks matey, not really had much of a chance to test the new map out yet, but it doesn't pull as hard as the Jabbasport map. Hopefully going to get it 'tweaked' in the near future, just need to put some new engine mounts on first as the current ones are at the end of they're lives
