EDIT: You know you have a mk2 Ibiza when you talk about your car in a tread like this, as if the car is haunted... but in a good way... For example:.... doors closing "on their own" instead of by gravity(car parked a little sideways), "deciding" not to start instead of having a bad battery, saying "please" everytime to make it start, instead of just fixing a problem... Christine type of stuff, isn't it?

you know you have a mk2 when:
your drive shafts clunk when turning full lock (the sirclip that holds the bearing on to the shaft has gone walkies :whistle: )
youve had a gearbox leak for over a year tried fixing to find the box is cracked so you run the gearbox with low/no oil (still going sounds like a hamster wheel though :lol: )
and obviously the old faithfull tappets :)

you know you have a mk2 when it bottoms out on country roads yet seems to have zero damage even though the subframe is only 2.5" from the road.

car wont go over 80ish now unless its gently taken over :( and deffo wont go over 100 without the engine retarding the timing :cry:

i had him up to 100 tho and he came off the roundabout miles before i realised what was going on :rolleyes:

but yeah knock sensor needs doing soonish although ive never had it so economical!

You know you have a mk2 Ibiza when.. You look to see what the revs are but instead learn that it is ten minutes to three....
 
You know you have a mk2 Ibiza when.. finding replacement parts eg: an oil sump, is almost impossible due to the chassis number split!
 
you know you have a mk2 when you hit something, hear a massive bang that would make any other driver in any other car sh*t their pants then pull over immediately, and you just carry on driving like its normal.
