when you get in it monday morning only to realise the battery is flat from the Radio turning itself on over the weekend
when you can't see what volume the radio is on because the screen is tempermental but you know exactly where on the dashboard you have to press to get it working
when you know the distance and angle from the car to stand to get the remote locking to work
when the remote locking stops working even from the same distance and angle it used to work from
when it rains and the window regulator fails so badly the glass fall down into the door
when the struts need replacing again
when despite everything you wouldn't want any other car

You know you have a mk3 ibiza when you can describe from the 'quirks' someone has a mk3, not a mk2

haha I was never sure if it was a 3 or a 2 bless her, it was right on the borderline between, I think she has split personalities!

I'll definitely give you the split personality, if for nothing else, the chassis' of the two are very similar, the mk3 has been referred to in the past as a mk2 facelift-facelift. But they changed a few bits and pieces under the bonnet, and obv gave it the newer face, and since VAG have a habit of recycling chassis', its more appropriate to call it a mk3, if it looks like mine anyway

Thank you! Like I said I wasn't sure but then I started reading this thread and was sure mine was an Mk2! it's a 2000 model, I'm not sure what the production dates were for the mk2 and mk3 but shes an old girl now so seems about right she had a couple of facelifts!

(from what I've just looked up I think mk3 starts at 2002? ... but there was a facelift in 99-02 which is sometimes reffered to as mk3 in the uk
so this is where my confusion came from, apologies! I know now that on this forum its considered mk3 - she still has a lot of "mk2" problems though! )
