Looking a the photos of the Bocanegra in the review it has side skirts, their not as standard ryt? Only asking cuz the one at my dealership aint got them. Although it looks as though it should as the front and back bumper sit lower than the sides.

I wonder is there any more pics. Wanna see more of that spoiler!

I'm really at a loss with Seat on this car the flagship model should come with the spoiler and side skirts, don't u u think? The car doesn't look in proportion without the skirts with the bumpers being lower front and back.
All these isues i have with the car but nether the less I've got one on order in Candy White :D

It's not the flagship for SEAT though

And everything is built to a cost sadly. They'd probably do them standard fit, but the price would be +£500

Yeah they look really sweet!

The spoiler is £100 and I think the skirts are £150. Thats in primer and not fitted.

So from the review it seems to me like this car needs some better springs. I'm thinking some 40mm eibach springs from Awesome would sort it!

More pics would be good. Nice review though!

Been put on by the dealership its the optional SEAT bodykit parts designed for the the Ibiza SC. It certainly looks well and the extra parts finish it off.

My test drive was a spur of the moment thing, and sadly I only had my phone with me which doesn't have a great camera. If I'd planned in advance I'd of taken my SLR with me.

Springs maybe, but I'd just scrap the Pirellis that would be a start. ;) Didn't like them on the Leon Cupra either.

The ride hight does look quite high so a sensible drop of 40mm should help the looks and handling too.

I'd have to use the Pirellis first. Couldn't justify changing them strait off.

A spring drop doesn't necessarily help the handling though, and could actually make it worse. Uprated springs tends to me stiffer, making the ride harder still. Though in my opinion the worst side effect of springs is the fact the factory dampers are not rated to the springs, they simply can't react on the road in line with the springs making the whole experience really crashy.

A sport damper and spring combination would yield a much better result.

Ok so probably best holding out saving and getting whole new setup.

I had Koni springs and shocks on my 106 GTi and they were great. May wait for some of these to come out. Or have a look at the coilover options.

Thanks for your review it was a very good read. After driving the FR I completely agree with your comments on the DSG.

Drive mode will be great for day to day. Sport for strait line sprint and manual on the twisties. I did found Sport to over rev when not needed and after driving a diesel for over a year did not like it :D

After watching a few vid's on Youtube the car does sound really nice too. Got a little rasp to it. Can you hear the supercharger with the windows closed?

Also what are your thoughts on the power? Does it seem pretty nippy?

Its quiet actually when your cruising about in it. I rarely noticed, though the D setting does keep the revs low often selecting 7th gear when the car is only doing about 30-40mph

Its got a nice soundtrack though when you push on and its got a longer rev range than I expected. You can hear the supercharger a little, its a low reassuring whine that is soon replaced by the turbo at the top end. Its a nice setup that makes it perform like a normally aspirated car, as its got instant power with no lag.

As I drive a 300hp+ Leon Cupra most of the time, its never going to be a match for outright power but I was pleasantly surprised with the engine, its very quick and despite its size its got plenty of pull. In my opinion it doesn't feel like its running a 1.4L it performs much like a 2.0L.

The Leon suffers from low down turbo lag as you'd expect but the Ibiza (in manual or S) is eager to crack on. Though in D the kickdown can be a little more hesitant to press on.

Sweet! Sounds like it’s going to be an ideal car for me. Nice and civilised when you’re driving normally but nice bit of poke and growl when you want it!

Nice to hear it still felt nice compared your monster Cupra :D
