CUPRA has officially opened UK order books for the new Formentor VZ5, bringing the five-cylinder range-topper a step closer to British roads.
Available to order now, the VZ5 sits at the very top of the Formentor line-up and remains the most powerful version of CUPRA’s best-selling crossover. It also marks the return of the much-loved five-cylinder engine, something that has helped make the VZ5 one of the most talked-about versions of the Formentor since it was first announced.
The five-cylinder headline act
At the heart of the new Formentor VZ5 is a 2.5-litre TSI five-cylinder engine producing 390PS, sent through a seven-speed DSG gearbox and CUPRA’s four-wheel-drive system.
CUPRA says the VZ5 also benefits from integrated torque splitter technology, helping deliver power more precisely across all four wheels. As you would expect, this is the most performance-focused Formentor in the range and the one aimed squarely at buyers who want the full-fat version.
Limited numbers worldwide
The VZ5 is also a limited-run model, with just 4,000 examples available globally.
That exclusivity has been part of the appeal from the start, and it is one of the reasons the car has generated so much interest since CUPRA first confirmed its arrival. For UK buyers, it also adds to the sense that this is not just another trim level, but a genuine halo version of the Formentor.

VZ5 styling changes
Visually, the VZ5 gets a number of changes to separate it from the rest of the line-up.
These include a unique front bumper, a front splitter with VZ5 engraving, wider wheel arches and a revised rear bumper and diffuser. Copper detailing continues to play a big part in the look, and buyers will be able to choose from a mix of metallic and matt finishes, including Midnight Black, Dark Void, Magnetic Tech Matt, Century Bronze Matt and Enceladus Grey Matt.
A familiar CUPRA feel inside
Inside, the VZ5 follows the usual CUPRA formula with ambient lighting, brand-specific interior details and CUPBucket seats helping to give it a more focused feel than the standard car.
That should help reinforce the VZ5’s place as the most special and most performance-led version of the current Formentor line-up.
UK price and timing
CUPRA has priced the new Formentor VZ5 from £64,495 on the road, with first UK deliveries expected in the fourth quarter of this year.
For buyers who have been waiting for the facelifted VZ5 to officially arrive in right-hand drive form, this is the moment it becomes real.
