Does anyone else suffer from lots of condensation on the inside of the windows in the New Leon? I've had my FR for 2 weeks and I've noticed since it has rained recently the windows collect lots of condensation.

I initially thought there must be a leak somewhere but all the carpets are bone dry etc as is the boot. I've read articles about water in doors etc but the drainage holes in the doors are clear.

I've had My Leon sinse January, and would say there is no more condensation in this car than any other I've owned.

The last two weeks have seen the start of the colder damper air though.

Just double check you don't have the CC on re-circulate aswel.

hello chaps.

I've had my FR for about 4 weeks. I haven't noticed condensation as such, but when I put my window down and back up, the inside of the window is soaking.

I've dried it out and it was fine until I wash it or it rains. All four are the same but the front two are worse.

It's going in to have a few things done soon so there taking a look at it then.

I'm getting some new xenons because the inside of the glass is dirty....anyone had this issue.

My old one does this - the water was literally running down the inside of the windscreen when I got back in it today. No other car I've had has been anywhere near this bad - I have had leak problems but apparently they are all cured. Seems they haven't ironed this problem out between model releases. Guess the rain in Spain falls mainly on the plain.

I've posted about this in the 'wet doors' thread.

My car went in yesterday for 2 days. The water is worst at the front of the drivers window towards the wing mirror, when the window is put back up you can see water across the inside of the window.

I'll let you know what they say.

Steve.

Check your climate control "recirculate" isn't on (circular arrow on display), most common cause of steamed up windows. This prevents fresh dry air being brought into the cabin, so the humidity quickly rises.

Also if you have used the aircon recently and then have it turned off, all the moisture that condensed (on the condenser!) will evaporate back into the cabin. Only way to clear that is to have fan on high with a bit of heat for a while (maybe with windows open a tad to let it escape).

Well the car is back, and the problem hasn't been fixed. The garage took off the door trim to look for leaks. The only thing they have done is report this to Seat technical as there was no report of this problem or subsequant fix for it.

So now I'm waiting to see what they say. It only happens on the drivers door, if the passenger one is OK something is wrong. I think they should at least replace the door components if nothing is heard from Seat.

If anyone else can check their cars and post back results that would be appreciated. I had the car in the rain. Day after, put drivers window down approx 4 inches and back up, the inside of the glass is soaking.

I find my windscreen seems to get more condensation than my last two Leon's. I've also cleaned it inside and out but still get the marks of where the stickers from factory were.

The only thing I have done is have the air con on as even with blowers on high it doesn't clear the condensation.

I noticed this last week. The front windscreen was covered in condensation, and still hadn't cleared properly (still had water droplets at the bottom of the screen) by the time i arrived home. Fortunately, it hasn't happened since.

This is exactly what I had, it hasn't happened since either.

Same here.....except I've had the FR just over a month

I have something similar but not the same.

I get samll patches of condensation at the very front edge of both front doors, a patch the sits on the inside of the glass where it sits behind the runner felt.

But if I wind the windows down and back up, the inside is perfectly dry. And I clean my car a lot, so presumably a lot of water goes down into the doors.

I have had both door panels off aswell. The drivers was removed by the dealer to replace a faulty mirror, and the passenger removed by myself to fix a damaged mirror. Not sure if this makes any difference

I have the same problems. Condensation on the inside of the windows which takes ages to clear. And also the wet windows when wound down/up even after a couple of days of dry weather. Maybe they are connected and the water entering the doors causing the condensation on the windscreen and front windows.

Ahhh I have had exactly the same probs with my new Leon. Water seems to leak into the door and the windows are wet after I have wound them down - not had condensation yet but suspect this could soon follow. Does anyone know if Seat have a fix for this ?

Like I said earlier, the garage just told me they have reported it to Seat, no fix available yet. I'm not getting this on the passenger side, I'm sure the next step is to replace the components on the drivers door.
It rained this morning, went out at lunch, just put the window down approx 4 inches again, window came back up soaking wet, most noticeable at the very front of the glass. I do get a very small amount of condensation there as well.
No probs with the windscreen.

continued.....
And as I only put the windows down a bit then back up soaking, where is the water collecting? Not even as if I put the window fully down and back up.

I've removed the door panels on the Leon, both as my job and to fix a damaged mirror on the passenger side. There isn't really anything in there that could be changed as the door card, winder mechanism and door lock mechanism are all one part that comes off together.

I really can't see how replacing any one part would change things.

I also can't understand how when winding the windows down the inside is getting wet.

I don't know any of the answers, just thinking out load (virtually)

Hi All

ADD MINE TO THE LIST.

My Leon does the same thing. Wet on the inside of the window after it's been raining. It's only the first 8 inches or so drivers side only.

Hi All

I have spoken to Seat customer services today & they said they outstanding technical problems with the Mk2 Leon.

They are not aware of the excess water running out of the bottom of the doors after rain or the wet patch on the inside of the drivers window.

So if Seat Technical are looking into this problem they are not telling anyone about it.
