Climate Control Blotch/stain

I saw one of these on ebay with the blotch on it and then a few days
later i saw the same thing appered in my cars climate screen in the same position and shape.
Am i jinxed or did i get infected by looking at the one on ebay.
Can any one help on a possible solution.

Try a seach, I remember someone posting something about trying to fix this (they were a bit handy with a soldering iron if I remember right)

my warrantee ran out in october thgis year.

I had EXACTLY the same thing, and so did someone else. There must be something on that side of the unit that causes it, becasue mine was just like that.
I found that I also got a nasty smell in the car from it - almost like a cross between coffee and biro ink


Luckily mine is still under warranty so I took it back to the stealers.

I was selling these a l ittle while back, have run out of them now, its easier to pick up a second hand unit than to try and repair it.

i spoke to my seat dealer but they want to charge me £499 to fit another one.
so im now going to have to deal with this head office.
and i will mail them the actual pics of the faulty panel.

Please do so, this appears to be a comon fault and something that is in effect built into the cars. The unit should last longer than 3.5 years!!!!

They will no dount tell you to go aay but keep pushing, I had a problem with the wheels on our lasses LCR (poor paint finish) it took 6 months, an independant enineers report and threatening to sue to get a decent reply and the items replaced.

seat told me to book the car in to the local dealer and pay a diagnostic fee. once the fault is located and found out to be a manufacturers fault they might exercise a goodwill gesture.
but lets wait.

I had exactly the same thing, i'll try to find the link, mine was out of warranty but I managed to get SEAT to pay half of the costs.

Does anybody know what causes this problem? Is it a physical damage or something else?

Its so easy for the stea;lers to charge you an arm an leg for service but when sH!t like this happens they wont cough up.
if i dont get anywhere i will contact the office of fair trading and consider legal action.
that screen should last at least 10 years as with other vag cars.

if it is an established common fault then they should cough up.
just like the coilpack issue.
i dont see this occuring on earlier cupras.

if its only just outside of warranty id get onto SEAT UK if the dealer wont honour it, always try your dealer first though
