Hi there,
My 03 plate Ibiza 1.9 TDi is going in for a service very soon.
I've just remembered that last time around I was charged a small fortune for changing the oil (about £50 i think).
I was told that it was special oil required for PD engines? can't remember what it was called.
Anyone confirm that this 'special' oil is absolutely required? and what should an oil change roughly cost?

Jus got 5 lires of 10/40 magnatec £24.99 + Filter £5. Wasnt really sure what the best oil would be but this stuff meets the standards

where was that ?

we sells it @ £21.00 and about £3 a filter and no ones interesetd lol

what oil would you recommend for my ibiza gti? (petrol) needs changing and my lecturer at uni recomends miller oils, but i dont know which one to get, and ive looked at 'motorsport' milleroils and i cant justify 40 pounds for 5 litres of the stuff

EDIT: just found the actual automotive section for reguler cars ;)
EDIT02:
can anyone recommend this for an 1999 car?

£34.95 for 5ltrs of Millers FXD engine oil.

Bought Millers XFD, just aswell I checked www.millersoils.co.uk as I found out that this was the wrong one. Should be millers XFE-PD even though I laboured the point of what I was looking for they told me they had given me the right stuff. Ended up getting Halfords on at £9 for 1ltr........... this was the only stuff I could find especially for my engine. Will do me till service time for top ups.
