My front fogs aint working at all.

Had the front bumper off over the weekend and put everything back on when finished, replaced the passenger fog light as the glass was broken and now when i go to put my fogs on the fronts don't work.

The light on the switch comes on.

I've check: 15 amp fuse for front/back fogs, Made sure the fogs were connect to there wires.

Can't think what else
They worked fine before!

Any advise?

Cheers jay

the clips are fully home arent they? should be a resounding click when they go back on.

Any more advice?

Do the fogs light loom have another fuse to check or do the looms clip in somewhere in the engine bay?

Really stuck...

If you can find a wiring diagram to see fog light circuit this would be a great help.

Check bulbs, correct bulbs used, bulbs fitted correctly, new fog light correct one, all connections inside the fog light assy its self connected correctly etc... If it runs on the same circuit as the rear fogs, do they work? Start at the basics.

Start at connections. Make sure everything is fully connected and the pins havnt been pushed out of the multi-plugs or bent.

Check power from the fusebox inside the car. Use a power probs (test tight multi-meter etc...) and check for power at the fuse. (Remove fuse and just check that the pins havnt been pushed out, as ive had this fault before on a vehicle and took ages to realise because i thought power was being sent to component but it wasnt and was just going through the fuse).

Remove multi-plug at the fog light then check for power. Should be a 12v feed. Check earth by doing a continuity check (using multi-meter) to the negative on the battery so that you know your gettin a good earth point.

If you have lost the earth then will have to check wiring and find possible break or poor connection somewhere. If no power then remove headlight switch and make sure power is being passed throught the switch.

Failing all of that you'll need to check the continuity of all of the wiring and make sure you havnt trapped a wire somehwere when removing n fitting the bumper.

Thats as much as i can think of for now without having the car, but failing that an auto electrician should be able to sort it out failry easily.

Hi everyone.

I have recently bought a leon 1.9 tdi 02 and the fron fogs do not work at all. Ive replaced both bulbs and fuse and still there is nothing. I did notice that the little green light on the switch itself does not come on but the little orange one does.

The rears work fine.

Any ideas?

I would take the bumper off and check all your connections....

out of interest though, why are you using front fogs ? it has not been foggy in AGES and 99.9% of the time in the UK front fogs are never used.. well unless you like hanging around with the local mcdonalds crew.

ok i will give that a go. i was concerned it may be the switch or something but i havent checked all the connections yet.

I live in a v.rural area in Ireland and do alot of late night driving so it helps on the contry roads. Plus i just got the car and it quite annoying when i know everything isn't working the way it should be. it will put my mind at ease.

well not than the main beam. i have the mains on and add the fogs just for extra wide view on the headgerows. deer have poped out on my dad and that didnt end well for the deer or his car.haha

ive heard of people from where i live getting pulled for using them in the town so i dont bother taking that risk. no use when the road can already be seen.
