Allways thought that the mk4 beeza was an ugly car. Was going to get a mk3 cupra but insurance and mpg was a big factor. So on sat i bought a mk4 tdi 130 sport. I have allways driven petrols, and swore i'd never have a derv and i know this has been mentioned loads before but what an engine. I didn't know they made diesels like this. The turbo rush is awesome!! Some boy racers in a fiesta st had a go with me 2night, booted it in third and just blew em away lol
What the hell r they like chipped i dread 2 think, surely u wud upgrade suspension and brakes as i had a 16v clio before, which addmitedley handled better but this car is so much more fun. One thing the computer is sayin my average speed is 8mph, when really it shud be 50mph. Anyone know what this cud be??

hope your enjoying the car mate, diesels are good cars mate, mine does fly but isnt running properly at the min, only has 193 bhp, but should be over 210 bhp.

If you click the reset button under the stalk, it should work properly then.

I feel like a little kid again with this diesel. How did you get 210 spaniels, is that just a remap or other mods on top? So u reckon if u just reset it shud be fine? by the way i havnt read the manual properley, but there seems to be two mpg figures on the computer? any help would be appreciated

one is the current mpg figure and the other is the average mpg figure....with a map your looking at 180bhp max, gonna need bigger turbo, fmic among others for 200+

Assuming you can get traction down, I had a problem last night getting traction down at 3,000rpm in 4th!

i had trouble with traction at 70 mph , ,think i need new tyres though, also smelt my clutch a tad this afternoon i stupidly decided to turn the TC off and wheelspin, 1st, 2nd, the short shift into 3rd and it just flew round to the redline smelt awfull, gonna give it a rest now.

Yes there are 3 types of MPG actuallty, current, 1st average, which is calculated on that journey, and then the 2nd average, which is calculated over 100hrs,

Only 70mph? Yours must be poorly! As for smell, I dont rag the clutch (std so cant afford it to start slipping) and due to grease/wet when it does spin up, its not tyre stredding, so doesnt smell either

Yep i do remember wheel spinning in my Cupra and i don`t miss it to be honest which is why i went 4WD on this car.
Best phone Allards when they reopen about the £4,000 but if your serious about going big turbo try and get the VT5 fitted as the VT2 cannot really cope with the bigger injectors.

Wow allards have got some cracking stuff for our cars. Once saved some more cash i'm going the full hog with bigger turbos and injectors. Not sure if im gonna change the bumpers for Fr ones, maybe keep it sleeper, so people won't know what hit them. just driven 5 miles at an average speed of 40mph, but that bloody computer keeps on giving daft figures of 18mph. Anyone else getting readings like this??

unless your continually on duels and motorways it's hard to keep the average up as it takes into account every stop you make ie. traffic lights junctions etc. so even if you bombing round at 80mph with one stop at 0mph and then back to 80mph it'll really drop your average
